Dr. Shannon Howe is the best
I have been going to Dr. Howe for over 20 years and she has always been 100% in regard to care, medical knowledge, conversing with me and letting me know what I should or should not do. I was in the hospital for another issue in 2006 and she even came to see me. That is what going beyond care means. I went in for rheumatoid arthritis and since I have been taking the RX she prescribed I have not had problems. I recommend her 100%.

Primarily, her assistant came in and took my vitals. 5 mins later, came in Dr. Shannon Howe. She was very prompt and arrived on time. She was very kind as she introduced herself as greeted me. I was asked the reason for my visit. We discussed my well being and tests. She took her time and went over all my documentation sent to her from my primary doctor. With clothes on, She performed a physical exam looking at my joints, as well as my skin, tissues and muscles. As she performed my exam, I was asked if I was in any pain or suffer from any discomfort at any time. Afterwards, she discussed her findings and her tentative plan for care to me, as she listens to my view. She was very thorough and explained everything clearly at every step. She gave me options about my care. I was asked if I had any questions about our previous discussion and any thoughts and/or concerns. We collaborated on a plan for self care along with what medications she would prescribed. Very professional and clear.

I went in having been referred to a rheumatologist for a medical condition. Dr. Howe could only be described as cruel. I am appalled that someone like this practices medicine. If you have a rare disease, definitely see someone else.

Dr. Howe is compassionate, a good listener and has watched over my situation for several years. I have the utmost respect for her. She is respectful of those around her and seeks out the answers, if there is something that appears to slip through the cracks. She gets things done.

I have been a patient of Dr. Howe for over 15 years. This remarkable doctor has always exhibited professional, knowledgeable, and caring behaviors during every visit. I had been sent to a couple of specialists in town to diagnose my auto-immune disease (they thought I had Valley Fever). Dr. Howe correctly diagnosed me with Adult Still's Disease. She successfully worked through the best course of meds and follow-ups which allowed me to continue my work career. I highly recommend this doctor.

If you might have Ankylosing Spondylitis don't see this Doctor. Although my X-rays and MRIs show I have the illness and my symptoms reflect she did nothing to treat me for this illness. She was irritated because I was emotional due to years of pain with no diagnosis, and told me since I didnt test positive for HLA-B27 protein I didn't have AS. She told me I didn't need to return to see her. Thank God I have the ability to think and research on my own. I'm now receiving much needed treatment.
