Dr. Shane Naidoo, MD

I didn't get to interact with Dr. Naidoo in PERSON but instead we interacted over the phone..My family member was in the hospital and very very sick. Dr. Naidoo called me very quickly after she arrived and was very calm and patient in telling me what was going on. Throughout everything that happened while she was under his care, he continued to call me and give me updates and answer all my questions. I've never had that kind of communication with a doctor let alone one that was not in front of me but had to stop and get on the phone to talk to me. It brings tears to my eyes when it let me feel like I was there with my family member. If you get this man as your doctor, you are very blessed.

The previous provider couldn't see us and then when he came in, he came right to us and took care of us in what felt like 30 minutes. also didn't realize he was famous. what an awesome doctor

My daughter had an issue that regarded psychiatric concerns. She was ignored for most of the day and we had not seen any provider for about 5 hours. Dr. Naidoo came in on the night shift and came right away to see us, apologized for the wait, and got more for us done in the first hour of him being there than then first 5 hours of us waiting in the ER. Definitely would recommend him and I wish he did primary care.

I was so surprised when Dr. Naidoo came and talked to my like a human but he actually also started my IV which the nurses always have trouble doing on me and didn't miss!! I've never seen a doctor start an IV so it was definitely a first for me. The rest of the visit was really smooth. Thank you Dr. Naidoo

This doctor was very knowledgable and took excellent care of my father when I brought him to the hospital for cancer related issues. He was thorough, considerate, and talked us through a considerable amount MORE than just what was going on in the ER. Very impressive and not something we're used to in this part of Maine.

I wouldn't recommending going to the ER on a Monday but if you do happen to go and happen to see this doctor, CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY! He was so smart and so good at what he does. Had a long wait time but once I saw him everything was so smooth. THANK YOU!

Dr. Naidoo saw my son after he broke his arm. He was kind, caring, funny, and knowledgable. It was one of the most efficient and best ER visits I've ever had to go through.

Sutured my sons hand a few months ago and it healed up so well. Can barely tell anything happened. Thank you!

Never had a ER doctor come and see me so quickly. Best visit that i've had in an ER because normally i'm sitting there forever and a bunch of tests get ordered that don't seem to have a purpose. Thanks that he didn't waste any time and got things done on his own. I had never seen that before. THanks again!

Thank you Thank you THank you!!!! Had this terribile tooth pain that was plaguing me for weeks and he gave me an injection that almost took the pain away entirely. Really careful and thorough with how he did the procedure. thank you!!

He was so patient with my mother and explained things so well, also seemed very empathetic to the surroundings, the follow ups we needed, and how we can get help if there were difficulties even after our ER visit. Just wow.

Really thankful I got to see this doctor at my visit in the ER. Went through my concerns well and helped me get a good follow up.

As an ER physician, Dr. Naidoo expressed that he does not treat mental health in the ER. His pediatric patient was being boarded due to a lack of resources. Dr. Naidoo and his staff threatened the caregiver with children's services when the caregiver asserted that the child did not meet criteria for community care. The child's disposition was a crisis level of care as per peds psychiatric consultation. Instead of communicating professionally with the crisis unit and the child's outpatient cardiac specialists to facilitate the safe transfer of the patient to the unit in regards to prescribed meds and continuity of care, Dr. Naidoo faxed a letter clearing the patient despite having never physically examined the child. This delayed the child's transfer. It was clear that Dr. Naidoo's only goal with this medically and psychiatrically complex child was to remove the child from the ED by any means possible, including accusing the proactive and involved caregivers of neglect and abandonment.
