Terrible visit
He came in and never introduced himself. Sat down and only talked into computer dictation device. Did not want to have any conversation about my daughter that was the patient. Asked me a couple questions but never spoke to my daughter. No eye contact. DIfficult to understand. No manners. No plan discussed for how to treat my daughter. Was not open to any suggestions of care for her...when I asked he simply said 'no' everytime. I am a nurse of 40 years and never had a physician be so rude! Wil never go back here!!

Would Not Recommend
Took my fiance to see him two months ago (COPD, asthma, enphysema, 4th stage heart disease). Two visits, no eye contact with his patient, talked into a recording device the entire time we were with him, when he did speak to us we couldn't understand him. Fiance is anxious for answers, Dr. Narain is (obviously) in no hurry. Only one chest x-ray as of today's date. He's asked for a referral to my pulmonologist who ordered five test plus a nebulizer on my first visit to see him.

Dr. Shakti Narian is a diligent, hard working professional with a straight forward bedside manner. He tells you what you need to know which may not be what you want to hear. He has been my doctor for many years and I would not change a think. His knowledge, education, and experience has literally saved my life. I give him 5 stars for doing his job the way it needs to be done and being there for emotional support exactly when I needed it.

Truly wish I could provide a better review. Dr. Narain has a terrible disposition. I should have known after the first visit that things would not improve -- and they certainly did not. Long story, but I switched to another pulmonologist.

I'm a caregiver and made a special trip to give Dr Narain all the medical records I had for a first visit for a man previously diagnosed with 3 major illnesses. Upon arriving, the lady who took us back put him on the scale, but didn't know how to use the She apologized and took the weight which I knew and said it wasn't her normal job. The medical records had been misplaced by the woman who made the copies. She apologized also, after inconveniencing our regular PCP for them, although I brought them with meThen the Dr comes in. What a trip! I doubted he could turn on a computer and what I wanted was for him to put a palm ultrasound on my charge's back to determine if he had a pleural effusion. He didn't have that necessary device. Instead he wanted to further inconvenience us, by sending us for a chest xray and his line of questions led that he was only interested in pigeon holing him into "sleep apnea" which was total waste of my time. I don't believe he's a pulmonologist!CPAP seller

Had a 10:15 appointment Get there at 10:05 . Sat in the waiting room,That stunk, for 50 min. I was called back when I said "You are running late " the nurse said" no we are doing fine". She took my blood presure and said he would be in soon .I waited another 30 min before I opened the door to the 10 x 10 room, with the ticking clock and found out he was in his office talking on the phone. It is bad enough you can not understand him or talk to him . You have to wait to see him. I will never go back to this office.

The staff at the villages office complained the whole time I was there. The nurse was. Very vocal on being over worked. The receptionist was annoyed by the doctor when he asked her to do something. The office staff was very annoyed. The receptionist had a sweatshirt on & looked very unprofessional.

Uncommonly rude. Dr Narain speaks into a recording device and not to patients. When we ask questions, he does not answer. I had to ask the office assistants to interpret his diagnosis and instructions. Very insistent that I stay twice at his $1,000 a night sleep clinic even though I had clear symptoms of sleep apnea. Refused to give any advice on using a CPAP, referred to a salesman, who was mad that I bought my own CPAP.

If I could give him a O review I would. NO bedside manner at all. The lab couldn't even read his writing for blood test. They ended up having to fax it over to his office for clarification. They never responded. We ended up leaving. WILL NEVER GO BACK. STAY AWAY. They office girl said don't feel bad if you can't understand him, neither can we.

Not at all understanding when asked questions, when asked, answers seam to be off the wall, I have been to him several times and every time he has been on the phone with calls or making them least three times while with me during exams, I will not go back or recommend to anyone. One star is way over rating him.

Extremely poor skills. Lack of meaningful communication or empathy with patient. But also lacking in diagnostic skills. Cause of collapsed lung not fully investigated. Reported slight emphysema from CT scan and X-ray. On week later, better doctors discovered Stage IV lung cancer. Avoid this Doctor if at all possible.

Staff is terrible at follow-through. They canceled 2 appointments and never called to reschedule with me. If you chose to use this doctor verify the dates that you saw the doctor and your billing they have a tendency to double bill you. I had to send a letter to the insurance commissioner regarding this issue. Very disappointed with the service and professionalism of a poor practice.

I would give zero stars if I could. Over a week under his care and we still did not have any clear answers from him. Life and death situation and he did not communicate clinically with us as family. He was rude and insensitive. He was answering questions while he walked away with his back turned to us while staring at his watch.
