Dr. Shahid Kaous, MD

He was degrading and unkind. A very hard thing to process while going through a challenging chapter in my life.

Dr. Kaous treated me as if I were an ignorant child, shamed me for needing help, and belittled my self worth by insuating that I do not work hard. I was recently moved to Dr. Kaous because my prior provider left. In my first appointment, rather than get to know me, Dr. Kaous: *Schooled me on my condition and proceeded to shame me for not having learned to control it myself *Told me I shouldn't need my medication because I am not working full time. (Because parenting, homeschooling my children, and working part time is not "working hard".) *Advised me to contact my primary care physician and ask him to discontinue another medication that I am on *Asked questions in an accusing manner, such as if he was trying to catch me ...what? I don't even know. He passed judgement on my character before the meeting even began, which means he judged me by my condition rather than me as a person.
