Cruel
Through a 5 day stay at the u of I psychiatric ward back in July of 2019 doctor howdeshell diagnosed me with multiple mental illnesses, bipolar disorder, PTSD, Schizophrenia and at the end settling on psychosis. Him and his colleagues would sit me down and tell me I had one of these diseases. It happened everyday I was in there except for the first night. Each day they would tell me I have something different than the day before. After being talked down to and having him shrug off anything I said to him I was released in a much worse state than when I went in. I struggled being told I have all these mental illnesses and then going to see other doctors/psychiatrists after it was found I had none of what he claimed I had. He would not take anything I said into consideration and would not talk to me without trying to belittle or invalidate my thoughts. I can only imagine the others he has done this to in the past. I would advise avoiding him as being told this harmed me for years.

Absolutely the best Psychiatrist for teens!
He is extremely thorough. He spends time getting to know the patient and truly cares about their best wellbeing and what they have to say ! We have seen a lot of doctors and he is absolutely the best!!!
