Dr. Seth Hayes, MD

I was rushed by ambulance from Ocean Springs Hospital in Mississippi to Ochsners in Louisiana for emergency surgery on New Years Eve 2019. During this holiday period Dr. Hayes was the only surgeon available at a hospital that was equipped to handle my particular emergency. From the moment I met him I knew I was in the very best of hands. He reassured me, answered my questions and soon got to work. This would be my 4th spinal surgery but my first with Dr. Hayes and I can say, without a doubt, that I received the best care of my life. He and his staff were nothing short of amazing and I am forever grateful for the care and compassion I received during a scary time. I’ll have to have another major surgery in the future and Dr. Hayes is the ONLY doctor I’ll trust to do it!

Went to him June 10, 2024, he seem concern yet I sign papers for them to get my records etc, well in late August of 2024 I contacted his office and still no records no mri disc so I went got the the disc myself and gave it to the nurse in his office at the hospital, I was told they will send it to down load and the got it back on September 10 th 2024 , it is log down , well on November 18 th still have not heard from Dr Hayes office when they told me when I have them the disc with in a week they will contact me to see Dr Hayes. Well 2 months still have not heard from them , I’m in constant pain , I decided to find another doctor, I neede my mri disc back , well they said they sent it to me , which never received, they could answer why no one has contacted me , just excuses why they can’t make a copy of my mri even through they have a copy on hand, now I have doctor to see me I have go and get another copy of a mri all the way in Baton Rouge again.Why ?

I thank God for Dr. Seth Hayes and his amazing talent as a surgeon. I was bed redden for 28 days in the most horrendous pain. My family arranged to get me to Dr. Seth Hayes as he was highly recommended by a friend whom Dr. Hayes had performed back surgery on. Dr. Hayes showed us my MRI and CAT scan explaining the herniated disc in my back at L3/L4. By the end of the visit I felt I finally had hope. In our first meeting he said the goal was that I would be able to walk the day of my surgery. Miraculously that is exactly what happened and I cried tears of joy because I was also pain free. Dr. Hayes is the best Neurosurgeon in every aspect. He took time to explain everything prior and after my intensive lumbar back surgery. Having nerve damage and decompression of discs Dr. Hayes surgical procedure included spacers, rods, screws and fusions in lower lumbar with outstanding results. Having a lumbar laminectomy and receiving injections over the last 10 years to tolerate, Dr. Hayes surgical procedure has left me feeling better then I have felt in all that time. I am only post surgery 8 weeks and looking forward to living my life pain free. Thank you for being the qualified doctor you are and the wonderful staff you have for making this possible. Anyone skeptical of having back surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Hayes and his staff to ease this procedure, however, remember you can only recover completely as long as you follow his aftercare instructions. Not enough kind words to share about the care received by Dr. Hayes, advanced practitioners, and his staff. He is very thorough in his approach and explanation about care plan. My case required surgery which was scheduled and carried out promptly. My recovery went remarkably well and staff was always available if I had any questions or concerns. STPH and Ochsner Northshore are very lucky to have such a talented and professional neurosurgeon on staff. Highly recommended from an Orthopedic RN.

I was referred to Dr. Hayes by my orthopaedic surgeon for a cervical procedure and am very thankful. Dr. Hayes put me at ease, listened attentively to all of my concerns and patiently answered all of my questions before surgery. In addition, Dr. Hayes took the time to explain with detail the surgical procedure recommended and what to expect post-surgery. Dr. Hayes was at all times professional, caring and respectful. Great surgeon, very knowledgeable and does a great job!

I visited with Dr Hayes about my back problem and a cyst was found. Dr Hayes recommends surgery and I had surgery. The surgery went well and Dr. Hayes made it a point I stayed comfortable.

Was having back and leg pain. I visited other surgeons and was taken aback by the arrogance. Met with Dr. Hayes and he was extremely down to earth, took me into his office and explained everything in detail. He really made me feel comfortable about a procedure I was really reluctant to have. Saw me at my scheduled appointment time. Office personnel friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Hayes nurse Ashley is very kind and patient. I have nothing but Praises for dr. Hayes he is all around a great neurosurgeon. The waiting area is absolutely beautiful.

I hit the jackpot when I was referred to Dr Hayes! All of the disabling pain and numbness gone since I had lumbar fusion surgery. Dr Hayes has given me back my life.

I have had back and leg pain well over a year now. I went to doctor Hayes to explore my options. I completely understand that my injury, in his opinion, did not warrant surgery. I do not appreciate him actually telling me that there are worse off people than I am. I am aware of that. However, that does not determine the pain that I am in. He could not give me a Next Step for relief of the pain. He told me that he is a surgeon, and there was nothing that he could do for me. Simply put, I think he could have been more empathetic in a way that he delivered his information.

I went in with severe pain and could barely walk with a cane. I had immediate relief upon waking up from surgery. Dr. Hayes is a miracle worker. I would recommend him and in fact I already have. I will be back to work as a server/ manager six weeks after surgery. I feel like a new person thanks to Dr.Hayes and his team. Thanks again for giving me my mobility back Dr. Hayes you are truly heaven sent.

Dr. Hayes answered all of our questions and concerns during our first office visit, and before and after surgery. He discussed in detail our options and when my husband opted for surgery on his neck, Dr. Hayes explained all ramifications of the surgery. Surgery went well. My husband was diagnosed with a double brain bleed (subdural hematomas) at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was taken into surgery immediately upon diagnosis. He is alive and on the way to recovery, after two surgeries, thanks to the expertise and diligence of both Dr. Seth Hayes and Dr. Sebastian Koga. We feel extremely fortunate to have had such knowledgeable, and caring, neurosurgeons available to us in St. Tammany Parish. They definitely saved his life. We highly recommend them.
