My experience with practice is great over last 6 years. I had gastric bypass five years ago with a good surgeon (who has since moved out of this practice) but his thoughts were to leave the gall bladder as long as it was healthy. Zhitnikov's thoughts differ from that for gastric bypass. Why? Future access. Mine had recently become suspect to concern and I went back in to the practice and met with Zhitnikov and we found that I had a large stone and multiple granules. The speed at which he fit me in immediately to stave off a more complex surgery being necessary should any of those granules had moved out of the gall was amazing. As soon as we knew what my risks were-we jointly looked at my business travel schedule against his surgery days and his vacation and he fit me in on day he typically only has office hours to accommodate us both and the earliest timing. He also drew a detailed diagram of what I was facing if those granules had moved. He was thorough, speedy, caring, and skilled.

My husband just had bariatric surgery (April 2019). Dr. Zhitnikov and the entire staff are top notch. Dr. Zhitnikov took the time to explain each of the procedures offered and answered all of our questions about what to expect pre and post-surgery. The office staff is so organized, helpful and friendly. My husband and I are extremely happy with the care he received. At the first appointment we were given a folder that had prescriptions, paperwork and everything he needed to get through the pre-surgery testing and appointments. I cannot say enough good things about this group. Thank you all!

Dr. Zhitnikov was great. He answered all my questions and did a wonderful job of explaining things in a clear, concise manner. He even helped me fight it out with my insurance company when they denied me. I've since moved several hours away, but still go to see him for my bariatric checkups instead of finding a new doctor closer to home.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say not only about Dr Zhitnikov but Caitlyn, Kathleen, and the whole staff. The front desk is so pleasant and nurses are very helpful and informative. I had no wait time every time have gone to the office. Caitlyn and Kathleen were so great during the 3 months when I was getting all my pre op work done. They genuinely care about there patients. DR Zhitnikov was so great while I was in the hospital. He stopped in every day to see. He is the best!!

This review is for the entire bariatric program at the Crozer Medical Center and not necessarily Dr.Sergey Zhitnikov. Overall I find the staff to be unhelpful and unorganized. Calls go unreturned, surgery dates are moved without warning, wait time is atrocious, paperwork gets lost. The CMC is also very dated and feels unkept/unclean. They are friendly enough, but in the scheme of things, it doesn't make up for the lack of accountability, organization and attention to their patients.
