Waste of time
Maybe he’s overwhelmed with is work and should take on less patients. Maybe that would make him a more effective doctor. With that said, don’t ever count on him for a scheduled appointment time maybe an hour later you will get to see him or speak to him via telephone. Appointment on 5-9-23 at 5 pm via teleconference scheduled and paid, I get call at 5:47 pm and after expressing that I had waited almost an hour for his call while at work need to say his reply was “ I can hang up and call you another day” instead of apologizing for his tardiness! The arrogant tone of his voice at that moment made me decide to never return! The next morning the receptionist called after seeing a message I sent (on the app they use) to confirm he did call and at the moment I asked her if I was 47 mins late to my appointment you would have charged me a huge fee and rescheduled the appointment but it’s completely okay for him to see you or call you at his leisure. What a waste of time!

Colonoscopy
Did the prep, spent the night clearing my stomach, took the day off work, showed up at the facility, he was not there the facility called his office and they said sorry it's cancelled! I had to sign to say if I did not turn up I would pay anyway! Shocking!

I have been a patient of Dr. Awasum for over 3 years now, Dr. Awasum cares about his patients. I had a procedure done with him and he explained everything to me in detail before and after my procedure. There has never been a long wait during any of my visits. I have referred my husband to Dr. Awasum MD. for his medical needs.

If I could give this Dr.'s office less than one star, I would. Basically, I was "stood up" for my colonoscopy! I was given a prescription for the prep solution and paperwork with instructions for doing the prep and date, time and location of the procedure. I did everything I was supposed to do and showed up at the right time and place only to find out that they never actually put me on their schedule!!! I was livid! There I was, starving, anxious and miserable. I got no apology, no call back, no money back. This was an absolutely horrible experience and I am still in pain.

Dr Awasum is a great doctor and I have also enjoyed seeing Carrie Sprayberry. I have received excellent treatment from both of them with my Crohn’s Disease. Dr Awasum has a great infusion center in his office that is staffed by Blanca, a great gal. I have the utmost trust and faith in all of his staff. They are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable.

He seems to be very knowledgeable in his field, excellent demeanor, but he seems to be over booked and I am just another number. I feel like I get generic treatment and not anything tailored to me.

Dr. Awasum is beyond fantastic and very knowledgeable in his field and is very caring and compassionate! He is the best of the best in his field. He cares about his patients and listens to their concerns and address their specific needs. Thank you for all of your help Doctor with my mother. His staff on the other hand is VERY disorganized, rude and could care less about the patient. I learned this first hand starting with visit 1. Please staff do better for the fantastic doctor! He is worth it!

Not likely. His staff will never return calls and don’t Bother calling if you have an emergency. They don’t respond to that either. Dr. Awasum on the other hand has good bedside manners.

Both Dr. Awasum and Carrie Sprayberry, MSN, FNP where fantastic. I was having issues after my gallbladder surgery and Carrie discovered the problem in minutes. She scheduled me for an endoscopy. Dr. Awasum did the endoyscopy and shortly after I woke up he was there with the initial results. Nice tag teaming these two. Carrie at my next appointment was very through about what I needed to do to solve my stomach issues. I Highly recommended the two for anyone that needs Gastroenterology services.

I found that he sets a mind set about what is wrong with you based on a mindset, and not about what you are saying is wrong. This mindset allowed me to go into a full flare for 6 weeks before he adjusted his treatment. The treatment changed only because I ended up in the ER.

I found Dr Awasum very efficient. His staff was also efficient, but not very friendly. I visited him for an initial visit and then for a procedure. He told me they would follow up and he would discuss with me how to best deal with my condition. I received a call a week later expecting to schedule a follow up, but the girl who called, said, no, he doesn't need to see.you. I consider him my doctor because he was the last to do my procedures, but I don't feel I have a very good relationship.

Dr. Awasum is wonderful clinically and personally. His bedside manner is excellent and his ability to really talk with me about my specific condition is wonderful. He really wants me to understand my options. As with all providers, plan on having to spend a little time working with his staff if you want to do anything out of the norm, such as using a different infusion clinic than they normally use. You can get it done - but it takes a little effort.
