Dr. Seema Sangwan, MD

Dr. Sangwan has been primary care doctor for both my wife and I for several years, but our experience has steadily declined to the point where I can no longer recommend her to anyone. From the start, her practice has felt like a high-turnover training ground for inexperienced student residents. Appointments are rushed, and her care for routine issues often boiled down to blindly prescribing antibiotics with minimal investigation. Still, we remained patients because she was familiar with my wife’s rare chronic condition—a rarity in itself—and we valued her optimistic outlook and the continuity of care. Unfortunately, that trust has now been eroded beyond repair. On the medical front, without getting into specifics, her history of prescribing treatments without fully considering potential risks or complications has resulted in serious, lasting harm to my wife, which we believe could have been avoided with proper diligence and attention to her medical history. But then, over the past few months, Dr. Sangwan has repeatedly reassigned our appointments to a far less capable colleague without notice. This bait-and-switch has happened six times—twice during video visits, once at an in-person appointment where we were informed “she’s busy” (which was immediately shown to be untrue when we learned she wasn’t even in the office), and most recently just now, less than two hours before my wife’s scheduled appointment. We were just informed that Dr. Sangwan will be transitioning to a fully concierge-based practice requiring a $2000 annual per-patient advance deposit. The short notice alone would be unacceptable, but the choice we were given (pay an exorbitant fee for the privilege of basic medical care or accept substandard treatment from someone unqualified to manage my wife’s condition) isn’t just unprofessional — it’s unethical. Dropping loyal patients without notice, and without a viable transition plan, demonstrates a disregard for patient well-being and an alarming lack of accountability. To any prospective patients considering Dr. Sangwan: my assessment is that she's a mediocre doctor running an unprofessional practice. This isn't someone I can keep trusting with my health or the care of my wife. I urge anyone in need of a reliable, compassionate doctor to look elsewhere.

While actively listening and communicating clearly, Dr. Sangwan is both professional and compassionate with a keen knowledge of specific specialists on the Peninsula and in San Francisco, those who are available to provide in-depth treatment. The skilled staff working alongside Dr. Sangwan is patient, supportive and kind, supplying the attention to details as needed. I highly recommend Dr Sangwan.

Dr. Sangwan has been my internist for over 7 years. I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the moment you walk into her offices you are important to her and her staff. She really listens to you and she cares. That’s very difficult to find today. Do yourself a favor and please see Dr. Sangwan.

Dr Sangwan is our doctor for past 6 years .She is the best in all means .She finds the root cause of any symptoms and treats that instead of just treating the symptoms.Very Quickly addresses any concerns we report and was very supportive.Scheduling same day appointment is easy with Dr.sangwan and replies to the question we post in mychart very quickly. Biggest thing is she doesnt hurry during our appointment like few other doctors do. We are glad that we found her.

Dr Sangwan is the real deal. She genuinely takes the time to care, head to toe. I am grateful to have found her for Primary Care.

I am new to the area and chose Dr. Sangwan from online ratings. She is excellent, very responsive. She has facetimed me for an appointment on the same day I requested. She explains test results and provides her recommendation on next steps without pressure. She typically responds to messages within one day or same day, and I feel comfortable writing to her with any questions. Highly recommend her and her team.

Great Staff and great Doc.

I visited the office but was not allowed to see Dr. Sangwan because I would not sign an arbitration agreement. I was not allowed to discuss the agreement with the doctor. Nowhere on the practice website does it list this agreement as a requirement. I also observed her office staff commit a HIPAA breach by throwing my paperwork (which contained my SSN) in a public trash can. I retrieved my paperwork and took it with me to ensure secure disposal, and I left without seeing the doctor.

Dr. Sangwan and her staff are fantastic. They listen to you and actually hear your concerns. Dr. Sangwan is very compassionate, knowledgeable, open minded and respectful. She is a wonderful person and doctor.

Dr. Sangwan's combination of knowledge, thoroughness, and amiability makes her an impressive physician.
