Felt unseen, ignored and not cared for
Dr. Pacheco first saw me when I was 22. I went in for consistent knee pain and instability. Despite my previous history of a dislocation and 2 subluxations I was shrugged off as “being too young for serious knee troubles”. I went back at 26 after 2 more subluxations and it was clear he didn’t even read my file and see that he had already seen me as a patient. “Your knee isn’t swollen it’s just puffy” is what I was told after 4 days of significant swelling & pain. I demanded and fought him for an MRI since X-rays never showed anything. My trochleas are shallow, I have discoid lateral menisci, edema in my hoffman’s fat pad & constant lateral subluxation when my legs are straight. I was told to go to PT AGAIN and to basically live in knee braces until I get arthritis. He does not care for patients, does not listen, does not take pain or health concerns seriously, and if you’re young with joint trouble, your pain isn’t real to Sean.

He's annoyed
I went to see him because I had been previously told by a Chiropractor that I had growths on both hips that would ultimately require total hip replacements. Mr. Pacheco's demeanor during my visit made me feel as though I was bothering him by being there. He appeared to be irritated by my presence and rushed through the appointment. He brushed off the x-rays and record I brought with me from the Chiropractor and instead just said I had mild arthritis in both hips and gave me a printout of stretches and exercises to do.

Waste Of time
I was charged $160 for x-rays. Dr. Pacheco‘s assessment of them: “you just have bad ankles“. He described the extensive problems that he could see in the x-rays, but offered no solutions other than more PT. He already knew I’ve been multiple times and that I do yoga on top of that. I was never warned about the possible cost upfront. I’m of the firm opinion that doctors practicing in US healthcare are obligated as part of the Hippocratic oath to care for the entire patient. That means the entire patient. That means finances. It’s not hard to run someone’s insurance and check cost upfront. I’ve seen plenty of doctors do it. This was a waste of time and money and led to me not being able to afford further x-rays for a podiatry appointment. I asked for a copy of my x-ray so I can get a second opinion. A curt reply that I would have to ask radiology and they could only burn it on a CD. Completely seriously. Also zero information on how to contact radiology (MyChart doesn’t let me).
