Highly recommend
Dr. Gallagher was great! Good bedside manner, didn’t feel rushed during pre-op appointment, and he was thorough with answering quarries. He keeps a blog with extremely detailed descriptions about procedures, what to expect day of surgery, an “shopping list,” and what to expect and do each week after that. It’s written clearly and in a conversational tone, so highly accessible to those who do not have a medical background. He personally called in the evening of my surgery to check in and answer any questions.

Dr Gallagher saved me from Nickel metal allergies
I was blood tested with Nickel & Aluminum metal allergies and was scheduled for a total knee replacement and had to cancel with my previous surgeon due to the implants he used contains these metals. I then went to Dr Gallagher and he found a suitable Nickel & Aluminum free implant from Smith & Nephew that would work for my knee replacement. I thank Dr Gallagher for researching and finding a good implant for me. Also I opted out of using the Dr Peck - Pre-Op IOVERA Cyroablation and Radiofrequency Ablation Nerve Blocks due to reading online about people having bad experiences with these nerve blocks that can last many months with side affects. I went with the Exparel 2 single shot injections given at time of surgery - they are long lasting nerve blocks with 1 shot above knee and 1 shot below knee - this worked very well for me blocking the pain for 4 days post op. I was prescribed 2 different narcotic pain meds but never had to use them due to the Exparel nerve blocks.

White Glove Hip Replacement
I had a conversion hip replacement yesterday and was in at 11:00am and out by 4:00pm. Mine took a little longer because he had to remove hardware from the previous injury, but for such a vital body joint, the turnaround time was very impressive. Staff was super-friendly and extremely knowledgeable; they took the time to answer all my questions and never made the process feel rushed, despite how quickly the procedure was performed. A personal follow up call from Dr. Gallagher himself was a nice bookend to a relatively stress-free, but major life event. Would highly recommend Sean and his team for this type of care.

knee consult
when to ask Dr Gallagher about my angry knee, was told I'd need a replacement eventually, but after a very painful round of golf I thought I'd need sooner rather than later, xrays are not bad enough to warrant replacement, but as we discussed and he examined he thought I just might have a meniscus issue (I had orthro on my other knew yrs aga) , he ordered an MRI right away to determine if that's the case. Hopefully, that's it and orthro is all that's needed.s

Best orthopedic surgeon in town!
I was a mess when Dr. Gallagher did my full reversal shoulder replacement. I had seen Dr. Gallagher in the past after I had back surgery from a different surgeon, we spoke about my options and what needed to be done. I knew then That he was going to be my Doctor to help get my life back on track. Honestly I am so glad I went with Dr. Gallagher. here I sit today just over 2 months later Pain free and able to do the things I use to take for granted, like reach for the radio knob in the truck or even just wave to my neighbor's or even get a full nights sleep amongst other things. Please don't hesitate to take that first step I promise you you wont regret it! Now I want to tell you just a little bit about his staff they are some of the best and most professional people around they were so friendly and understanding about my situation. The day doc told me I didn't have to come back I was a little sad I really didn't want to say bye to my new family. I will miss all of them!

Left knee replacement done well
I really appreciate Dr. Gallagher and his office staff on the work done for my left knee replacement. Having a friend that had previously had a great experience with Dr. Gallagher made me confident going in and now after six weeks past surgery, I can say that I had a very positive experience as well. Everything from pre-op, to surgery and post-op went well and Dr. Gallagher's written blogs were true and very helpful. I did the pre-surgery nerve blocks with Dr. Peck and think that it really helped as the pain was very managable and I never got into the Oxy drugs at all. Keep up the good work and thank you!

Left knee meniscus tear repair very happy patient!
I am an employee benefits consultant and used my resources with one of my contracted medical insurance carriers to do my research on orthopedic surgeons in the Austin area for quality of care and cost. Because the more you spend on medical care does not equal more quality - in fact studies show that there is an inverse relationship. So, my research led to Dr. Gallagher at ATX Orthopedics. My research proved to be correct. Dr. Gallagher spent a lot of time reviewing my x-rays and my MRI's. With absolutely no prior knowledge of my issue, it was very clear to me what was wrong. Dr. Gallagher immediately said that he normally likes for the patient to go through 4-6 weeks of therapy before he likes take the surgical route. But, my injury had occurred 7 months ago and was rapidly getting worse. So, we agreed that surgery was going to be the best option. I immediately felt better after the surgery, walked the next day with a lot less pain and never took anything for the pain.

Knee Arthritus
Dr. Gallager did some arthroscopic surgery on my right knee about 10 years ago and it helped a lot. I have had knee pain so severe in that knee for the past 2 months that I went to visit him. Xrays revealed bone on bone now, so I am scheduled for a TKR in about a month with Dr. Gallager. Dr Gallager and his staff are so helpful, he took a lot of time to meet with me and answer all my questions associated with the procedure. I really like the approach he takes to knee replacement, and in the past few years he said it's all about focusing on the swelling after surgery for the first 7-10 days. He also explained how every knee replacement he does is 'custom' for each patient. I believe Dr. Gallager is the best orthopedic surgeon for knees in Austin. Thank you Dr. Gallager, and I am looking forward to getting my life back after this surgery!

Does only what is necessary
Dr Gallagher did both my wife’s hips a year and two ago. No problems, walking the next day. I went to him recently thinking I would need a hip replacement but nope. The problem was a right glute thank was weak as a result of an L5 S1 back problem. He gave me exercises to strengthen the muscle. It’s painful to work through it but it’s getting better.

Successful surgery
1 week into post-surgical TKA recovery & all is good! Doctor Gallagher is excellent with a good support staff. Prepping patients (me) with a nerve ablation procedure (nerve-block) a week in advance by a colleague Doctor resulted in an absence of any post-op pain. Some minor wound bleeding did develop: communication facilitated by email & photos, & we agreed to office visit & subsequent addition of 3 stitches, painless & effective. Very optimistic about recovery . . .

Dr. Gallagher came highly recommended
Dr. Gallagher came highly recommended from the staff at Ascension Seton Medical Center where my wife has worked for over a quarter century. His was the first name to come up from multiple coworkers that she consulted. Upon meeting him, I knew right away that everyone was correct. He has excellent bedside manner, plus the expertise and positive results that I am looking for. Just a fantastic doctor!
