When a nodule was seen on my lung I consulted with three different thoracic surgeons about what to do and chose Dr. Swanson. Best decision of my life, as he saved my life. He knew right away it was cancer and took it out. Others demurred. When he moved from Mount Sinai in New York back to HarvardI followed him. It has been 12 years since that surgery. I see him each year for follow ups and would follow him anywhere. He is incredibly skilled and a wonderful person. You can’t do better than that!

The single worst surgeon I have ever worked with. He makes very poor clinical decisions on a routine basis. His patient care is severely compromised by his personality. I would definitely recommend finding another thoracic surgeon.

I became a patient of Dr Swanson quite by accident & it was the best mistake I ever made. I was referred to Dr. Swanson at Brigham & Woman's, so I called & was fortunate to get an appointment. The only problem is that I was referred to a different Dr. Swanson (his brother) After researching online, I realized my mistake & was able to make the appointment 4 years ago. We've been following a nodule on my center lobe. This was going to be the final visit & then the tumor showed. I'm home recovering
