Thank you brilliant Dr. Pfahler
I owe my sight in one eye to Dr. Pfahler. He saw me as a emergency new patient when he did not have to making time for me after a very long day I am sure and I will be forever grateful. The office can be busy - lots of bad eyes out there, I feel he is helping as many people as he possibly can. The staff and Dr. Pfahler are always very pleasant and professional. I imagine it does not take much to throw the patient schedule off (I'm sure I've been one of them) but I'm sure it's because he is doing his best to accommodate everyone's complex needs. I appreciate Dr. Pfahler every single day.

He is a great Doctor; problem is scheduling: had 9 am appt has not been seen by him yet and it is now 10:52. And that’s not to say how much longer she has to sit in the exam room. It's too long a wait for people over 85 yrs old. My mom has now missed her 11:30a appointment elsewhere.

His office is in a bad location so my first impressions were bad. The office is old and feels dirty. I visited his office twice. First visit I waited 2 hours and felt like I was cattle hurded thru a system. Second visit I waited 2.5 hours and saw Dr.Pfahler for 5 minutes. Never spent any time with me. Did explain anything. Not sure exactly what he did because he neveer really explained anything. I had an allergice reaction to the drops put in my eyes but his nurses (and Dr.) just blew me off back to Dr. Stahl. I went through this allergic reaction twice but no one cared and tried to resolve it, and determine which drop it was. Took a good 7 days to get over the swelling, itching, seeping and matting of my eyes. Use 3 types drops to resolve it. You would think that an eye specialist would have some idea which drop might be causing an allergic reaction.

Had to wait over 3 hours for an appointment. Because of a problem, Dr Pfahler wanted to see in me in two weeks. Because I was not feeling well I canceled my appointment. I called to reschedule and and had to wait over 3 weeks for new appointment The receptionist was rude and I hope that it's not a serious eye problem.

A scary medical issue, BUT the staff helped put me at ease. My eye health is improving. Dr pfahler and his staff have provided me with great service. Not a comfortable procedure, but my eyesight is worth the short term discomfort.

When diagnosed with a macular hole, Dr Pfahler's office gave me a same day appointment and then Dr Pfahler scheduled my surgery shortly after that. Dr Pfahler's expertise and adept skills saved my eyesight. I highly recommend Dr Pfahler and am grateful for the outstanding care he provided. Dr Pfahler is extremely knowledgeable and ensured that I understood the procedure, care, and expectations.

I would highly recommend Dr. Pfahler! He explains the condition and treatment well. I had a macular hole. He scheduled the surgery at a hospital in my network, even though it was not at the hospital he normally does his surgery. He called me before the day of surgery and then after my surgery. His office staff are friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing retinal surgery.

I was experiencing flashes of light one evening. Hearing this could be a detached retina I contacted Dr. Pfahler’s office. I was able to see Dr. Pfahler quickly and upon examination he determined I did not have a retina detachment. He was professional and treated me with respect. I would highly recommend Dr Pfahler and would not hesitate to see him in the future.

The team was helpful, attentive to Covid safety precautions, and cordial to me as a caregiver accompanying my husband. Information discussed was pertinent, and we now have the resources for monitoring the eye condition and future planning. I was satisfied and appreciate the expertise and service. Location very convenient and appreciate a downtown office. Thank you.

quickly diagnosed a macular tear with surgery scheduled 5 days later. Called the day prior to surgery to discuss procedure/recovery and address any questions i might have. Surgical repair was successful with minimal pain. Numerous visits scheduled postoperatively to monitor the repair . Caring staff and efficiently run office.

I am a 70 year old patient of Dr. Pfahler. A year ago my retina completely detached. His office worked me in immediately and I had surgery 4 days later. Yes, Dr. Pfahler is direct and business like, but he does have a soft side. He just doesn't have the time to spend. Check it out. How many doctors are there in this county in his profession. He is sought after and rightfully so. I can see now a year later. He genuinely cares about his patients and has the knowledge, experience and professionalism anyone in my shoes appreciates. The staff is always friendly and caring. His office is convenient in downtown with FREE parking. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Found Dr. Phaler to be very smug and uncommunicative. His first priority seems to be to move on to his next patient as quickly as possible. Very poor in communicating and/or answering questions. When asked what the risks are for a certain surgery, his reply was that every surgery has risks. Obviously that explained absolutely nothing. When asked about a known alternate procedure other than surgery, he would not discuss it. I have fired him.

I have been bringing my mother-in-law for more than two years. I have never been disappointed in the care she receives. Sometimes the wait is long, but the care he and his staff give are awesome. Dr. Pfaler takes the time to make sure I understand what is happening so that I can pass it on to her children.
