Initial Consultation
I had an appointment with Dr. Palmer to review my MRI for back pain symptoms. He was on time and reviewed my MRI scan and medical history beforehand. He assessed my current symptoms. He conducted several brief tests for pain and reflexes.Dr. Palmer walked me through my MRI scan, thoroughly explaining the cause of my pain. He answered all my questions and never seemed rushed. We then reviewed treatment options and agreed on a treatment plan. Dr. Palmer set realistic short and long-term expectations and reviewed what I needed to do to ensure the best outcome.Based on this experience, I would highly recommend Dr. Palmer.

Unsettling and confused
I get back injections to avoid surgery. My first one at Mayo went great. Pain free 8 months. When I needed the next one, the doctor who did the first one went to Rochester. So I landed with Palmer. Got the injection and before I got off the table, he asked me to write a good review because his google reviews were in the tank. I chose another Mayo doc for the third injection and it has been 4 months. I lost all confidence in him even though he was polite. I’ve never been asked by a medical doctor to leave a good google review because his were in the tank.

Unprofessional
I went to see Dr. Palmer who I had previously seen per my PCP, because of chronic pain. The first thing he said to me you are going to be trouble. He did not listen to what I was explaining, he had me in tears. He was very cocky, uncaring and unprofessional. He stood in front of the door with his arms crossed and said I don’t know if I want you as a patient. I had already been his patient. He accused me of just wanting drugs, but if he looked at my medical history, he would have seen I have a low tolerance to any drugs and have bad reactions to them. But he didn’t. I was told to report him to patient experience, which I did the person who told me gave him a heads up. This got me no where, they wanted to know what I wanted them to do. Now I must be red flagged because I was not told when my heart doctor retired and I am not getting my calls returned. So this is what happens when you are not happy with a Mayo doctor. I did not like him initially but he was the only one availa.

He listened to all of my husband’s pain issues and problems which were lengthy. He came up with some options. So far we are VERY pleased with seeing him.
