Worst bedside manners
After surgery on Dec-16-2021 by Dr Scott Lentz at Kaiser my cancer spread, he told me “I’m sorry it seems like you had hit every single bad lottery ticket” I kept on complaining of severe pain in my growing area, he sent me off to Pain Management who after a CT scan send me back to him as I still had a mass on my pelvis and right hip area. He also said he would do radiation after chemotherapy which after finishing chemo he said let’s do radiation unless is really necessary, I was in so much pain that I was even seeing by a Pain Management Phycologist who really helped me. Dr Lentz to top it off just send me to Palliatives, where that is it, nothing else to do. I changed insurance and was able to get out of Kaiser and went to City of Hope, what a change like night and day, I survived. Who in their mind like Dr Lentz tell their patient “I’m sorry it seems like you had hit every single bad lottery ticket” walking away from him was my winning lottery ticket.

Met with him twice, once during initial consultation and second, preop consultation. All other visits were with his residents who weren’t prepared or his NP, who knew more about the patient than he. The Kaiser system is not patient focused, which is why I left to Cedars Sinai. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t approve a 2nd opinion and I have to pay a lot more out of pocket, but my care is worth it at Cedars.

Ego over patients. Never a good sign when the stakes are this high. Seek a second opinion and get your PET early.

A-mazing!
Saw Dr Lentz to assist &/or take over surgery for a gigantic poss/malignant tumor. Traveled from 2 states away to work w/ Dr Seth Kivnick & him. Appreciated he looked me in the eye not at the floor as we discussed my case. He was respectful not condescending, honest, upfront, reassuring & confident w/o arrogance. He did not play games, use fear tactics, suggest/put me through any dangerous/unnecessary treatments, procedures, or tests that others suggested. The possibilities looked bad but he was reassuring & positive about the good. Just before surgery he came to greet me & see how I was doing, which I appreciated. He & Dr Kivnick performed a perfect open myomectomy w/o any complications or injuries, removing my gigantic fibroid in 1/2 the time of the prior surgery that left me injured, chronically ill & removed a small piece of same tumor. So good it was surgery in the PM home the following AM w/only otc pain relief. Trust & highly recommend him. God bless Dr Lentz, he saved my life!

I was recommended to Dr. Lentz and briefly met him once to go over the details of my operation. He was quick and precise- no games. The day of surgery, I hadn't seen him and never have (after my consult). All I feel are the AMAZING results of such a clean and concise major surgery he performed in less than half the time predicted and there were about 4 wonderful surprises that were looking grim going into the operation. The entire staff was wonderful from beginning to end but this Doctor is the most professional I've ever encountered. I trust him with my life. His hands are truly blessed. P.S. I recovered from fibroid removal Sx and a total hysterectomy (total over 11 lbs) in 6 days and ended all pain killers on the 4th day. He's that good.

BEWARE, Scott Lentz M.D. has a raging temper and has poor bed side manner with his patients. Choose another doctor. Do not choose him as your physician.

Dr.Lentz is easy to talk to and willing to take an aggressive, pro-active approach. Most of his residents are fantastic as well (Dr. Christy Evans, Dr. Nicole Feinberg, Dr. Lu, Dr Avila ) but steer clear of resident Nathan Riley. I found Dr. Riley to be the most unsympathetic, arrogant, uncaring doctor I have ever dealt with and he is definitely in the wrong field. Avoid him entirely. Wish I had known. Other than that, the entire staff that Dr.Lentz works with at Kaiser Sunset is amazing.
