Dr. Scott Cross, MD

Dr Cross has been my oncologist for a little over four years now. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. He and his staff bedside manner is excellent. I never feel rushed or unheard. Every concern I have Dr Cross and his staff address it with ordering more lab work or diagnostic tests. They follow up with tele health calls to ensure that I am aware of results and to answer any questions that I may have. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of an oncologist.

Dr Cross was my oncologist more than a decade ago when I was recovering from a series of surgeries to remove melanomas that had metastasized. I have had no symptoms for the last ten plus years, but I wanted to reestablish our relationship. A little to my surprise, he remembered my case. I am 80 years old and requested a PET scan to either discover a hidden problem or to relieve any concerns that the disease had returned. After a short, but thorough, discussion and evaluation, he agreed that the scan would be a good idea. We now have a plan for my future that is very comforting...for me and for my wife. I heartily endorse Dr Cross.

I am of course bias as he saved my life. When I showed up at Norfolk General having been just told I probably have Cancer from another emergency room, I was terrified. Dr. Cross and his team got to work on me right away and made me feel I had a chance. He never gave me false hope but always let me know his team would do everything to get me through this. I'm still here in remission 15 months later. That's more time with my kids and grandkids. I will continue to be extremely grateful for hopefully a long time!

Dr. Cross is personable, friendly and know his stuff. So glad he is my doctor!

He discusses and explain everything in details, he also listens very well, and cares about patients. I like him very much, he doesn't spare any efforts to help and support his patients even if he goes out of his way to help.

Dr. Cross is always very thorough and up to date on all of the new drugs and treatment modalities, particularly for multiple myeloma. His support staff is also excellent and readily available.

Dr Cross is a caring , compassionate physician. He is a wonderful, emphatic listener. He answers my numerous questions in an understandable manner.He strives to keep our appointment start time on track. His staff are also an integral part of my care. They are excellent also..always kind, efficient and caring. Dr. Cross is a keeper!

Dr. Cross and his team were extremely thorough. They took ample time to describe Dr. Cross’s diagnosis and prognosis and answered all of my questions in detail.

He explained my condition well and answered my questions thoroughly. My treatment was quite a project, and he managed it well. He had access to my PCP, dentist, and endodontists who always conferred with him regarding other conditions and recommended treatments. He treated me with respect. He and his staff were through.I had multiple chemical therapy treatments for my non-Hoskins Lymphoma. The ladies that administered the infusions were very kind and always made me comfortable. Their quality control of the infused medications is impeccable. Always back checking each other.Quality control is exercised throughout the Virginia Oncology Associates facility. It starts when you check in. I strongly recommend Dr. Cross. He and his staff helped me and my family throughout my treatment. I am grateful for his attention to detail, and the quality of his care.

The treatment I received from Scott Cross have been long thought out and always in my best interest in my families interest. I do think there’s anyone so thorough and testing diagnosis planning and my treatment.

I saw Dr. Cross in consultation for a lab result obtained by my primary care physician. He had reviewed the labs and my medical record before my arrival, listened attentively to my story, examined me, and ordered an additional test. He promptly called me himself with the test result. With his considerable knowledge and the time he spent with me he addressed all of my concerns.

I have been a patient of Dr. Scott Cross for over 20 years. He is a brilliant diagnostician and caring physician who has never lost that personal touch. When he is seeing you, you are the total focus of his attention, and he always has time for one more question.

Some years ago Dr. Cross saw something in my blood report that no one else brought to my attention. As a result of that he has been treating me for a number of years. I hold him and his staff to the highest standards. They are a team that I would highly recommend to anyone.
