Fixed my Bilateral Inguinal Hernia
I saw Dr. Belsley based on a referral from my Primary Care doctor. He immediately diagnosed my hernia and noticed that I actually needed a hernia repair on both sides. Surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks later. I just finished my post-op visit (2 weeks plus a day after my surgery) and everything is great. All the swelling is gone. I don’t have any more pelvic pain and most importantly, no more swelling in the pelvic area. If you are looking for a surgeon with over-the-too bedside manner then Dr. Belsley is prob not your guy. If you are looking for a highly competent surgeon who has many years of relevant experience then you will be in good hands.

Dr. Belsly has overseen my 2 visits to ER in 2021 for OBD, which can only be treated as there is no prevention and no cure. Both treatments were resolved as partial blockages; the most recent required the NG tube insertion. He is knowlegeable, caring, and empathetic. He explains his recommendations well. I highly recommend him.

This doctor performed an inguinal hernia surgery on me mid July of this year. I am still suffering from surgery. Pain, swelling, any cough, sneeze, causes swelling and pain. He was arrogant from the start and gave zero post op care. The nurse assigned for pain management when I awoke from surgery was overwhelmed with me in pain, didn't know what to do and I was vomiting constantly right through leaving the hospital and throwing up out of a taxi on my way home as well. Total disaster and now I need to find another doctor to see what wasn't done right. Terrible doctor and terrible care.

I had surgery in August of 2016. A year later, I can not be more happy with the results. Dr. Belsley isn't going to hold your hand and tell you you are great. He is going to be real and give real answers. Formerly my BMI was 47. It is now 27. I put a lot of hard work in too, yoga, running, etc, which all became easier to do once I lost my first 60 lbs. Don't expect him or the practice to sugarcoat things for you. He is a great surgeon and they a great team.

Beware. This practice is very unorganized. Shara, the dietician is condescending obnoxious & unethical. I was coaxed into having a gastric bypass by Dr Belsey instead of the sleeve which is what I originally desired. My bmi was 35. Not really warranted for a bypass. I was told I could not change my mind once I decided. I postponed by surgery & 2 months later tried to rebook it & had lost 6 lbs in the interim from a stomach flu & the Dr told me I proved I could lose the weight myself
