A mixed bag
Reviews seem to cover a broad spectrum. When in doubt probably should keep looking. Has DO and education not impressive.

The best
I have seen Dr. Xavier for about 2 years and she is nothing short of exceptional. I have been under the care of mental health professionals for 30 years and, based on my experiences, Dr. Xavier is a top-notch psychiatrist. It plainly evident that she is drawing from a vast knowledge-base when she provides recommendations and medications. Always honest regarding her assessments of my symptoms and behaviors, Dr. Xavier skillfully applies appropriate treatment strategies in a caring and respectful manner. Her approach is thoughtful and empathetic, and her observations and conclusions are spot-on accurate. I sincerely appreciate that Dr. Xavier always invites my questions and answers them thoroughly.

Do not recommend
First thing she says at the start of every session before even saying hello is “And how will you be paying today?” Ummm, I have been seeing you for a long time and this is still how you greet me?” Second, she does not treat you with respect. If you disagree with her or challenge her opinion, forget it. It’s her way or the highway. Third, she is rigid and inflexible when it comes to appointments. If she doesn’t have anyone for her 8:00 am slot, she doesn’t ask if it works well for you, she just puts you in there expecting you to take it. Fourth, extremely conservative on med dosing. You have to beg to go up on doses, if it’s clear you need it. She will fight you tool and nail if there’s not enough “proof.” Went to another physician and they dosed me appropriately right away. Do not recommend.

Epitome of what’s wrong with medicine
Telehealth
Despicable practice, treats even prospective patients like they’re idiots. If you want to drop $250 on an 8-minute appointment in which she describes to you the most basic of things she could have communicated to you in an email, be my guest. Be aware that she expects you to pay $450 x 3 sessions before she’ll even consider prescribing you medication. Unbelievable

Initial 2 appointments good. She directed me to stop a medication abruptly after I told her it wasn't helping. I asked if abrupt discontinuation could cause any problems she responded no. It caused me to have more serious problems which required more extensive/intense treatment. She was dead wrong, I should have followed the directions that came with prescription instead of her! A patient I know asked to see a counselor to avoid her expensive pay out of pocket fees not covered by insurance. Her counselor was her father, that was casual to the point of being useless!

Comments from Wellness Psychiatric Services: All reviews are read thoughtfully and used constructively to ensure best care. Please understand that any child who is started on a new psychiatric medication must be evaluated for side effects and medication efficacy prior to a medication refill. All documents that are submitted are reviewed thoroughly by the physician between session 1 and session 2. The practice mission is for clients to know their sense of worth. We will work harder in this mission

My daughter was seeing this dr for couple of months paying $350 each time until we found an in-network physician and made an appointment. A week prior to that appointment my daughter ran out of her Prozac and called for a refill. Dr Xavier denied the prescription. Since the new doctor still hasn’t seen my daughter she couldn’t prescribe. Without meds my daughter risks a withdrawal and worsening of her depression. This is malpractice, patient abandonment before new treatment plan is established.

My husband and I met with Dr. Xavier for an initial consultation on behalf of our daughter, who has several previously diagnosed conditions. In addition to not having read the extensive background histories I filled out through the Patient Portal prior to our appointment, Dr. Xavier was brusque and condescending in person. Our 45-minute, $350 session was not nearly enough time to give Dr. Xavier a thorough clinical picture of our daughter. We were sorely disappointed with this physician.
