Dr. Sarah Tallman, DO

Dr. Tallman is an excellent diagnostician. She does have a straight forward approach which I appreciate. Her nurse, Rhonda has been with her since I became her patient when my prior PCP retired. I have developed several serious and complicated health problems while under Dr. Tallman's care. She quickly determines a plan of action and quickly gets back to me with results and treatment. She has referred me to other specialists when needed. She or Rhonda have always responded quickly to any communication via My Health. I thank Dr. Tallman and Rhonda for their excellent and personable care. I whole heartedly recommend her highly.

Condescending and disrespectful attitude and not knowledgeable

After much testing, Sarah’s nurse called to tell me Sarah wanted a psychiatric evaluation before she’d do more testing as she thought my symptoms may not be real. Absolutely unacceptable behavior from a medical professional. I was later diagnosed from another internal medicine doctor with a rare cancer and an autoimmune disease. She could have cost me my life. I do not recommend her.

Dr Tallman is a wonderful doctor. She is very knowledgable. I received great care by her when I was in the hospital. Thank you for taking care of me.

Dr. Tallman is a plethora of knowledge and information wrapped up in compassion for her patients. She carefully listens and inquires to accurately understand and access concerns and symptoms. She has been such a blessing to me, and I’m grateful for her dedication and service!

I called pain management clinic at 8am in extreme pain. Told I needed referral. Called my personal doctor - Sarah Tallman. Her nurse called in referral but first appointment in one week. Nurse suggested I go to Urgent Care-if too busy come to Dr. Tallman and we will squeeze you in. I was driven to Urgent care where there was a 3 hour wait time, so went to Tallman. After checking in I was kept in waiting room for over over 1 ½ hours before receptionist finally told me dr would see me at end of day when she was finished with all her patients with appointments. To expect about 2 hours more. I was made to feel that they were busy, I didn't have an appointment, and I shouldn't be there. I left, after spending 3 hours at Iowa Clinic with EXCRUCIATING pain, without being seen or even given a chance to speak with my doctor. HORRIBLE TREATMENT. NO doctor-patient relationship. I Definitely do NOT recommend this doctor.

Timely. Caring. Highly competent. Responsive. Thorough.

Dr. Tallman is extremely knowledgeable in her field. It takes more than one visit to build a rapport at times with people and doctors are not to be excluded from this. Try not to judge immediately; she's an excellent practitioner and from my repeated interactions, on top of her game.

Very rude. She does not seem to care much about her patients... she was actually insulting. I will not return to her and possibly not to Iowa Clinic because of my interactions.

Unfortunately, dr Tallman is not my regular doctor. I saw her when hospitalized at UnityPoint West in 2015. Dr Tallman was very respectful and extremely nice with a great bedside manner while I wasn’t myself (severe dehydration among other problems including exasperation of my chronic pain conditions). I had also been falling so I had “sitters” in my hospital room. Several were rude Mercy nurse students. I appreciated Dr Tallman even more because of the students behavior.

Terrible doctor! It is so unfortunate when people go into this profession for money and not for the care of patients.

The worst Doctor I've ever had. She should NOT be practicing in the medical field. She has no compassion for her patients. After telling a friend about my experience, a stranger within earshot came to tell me how sorry he was as he had the same experience dealing with Dr. Tallman and his sick father. Sadly in his case, his father passed away. Please seek professional medical help elsewhere. Please.

Dr. Tallman Is very knowledgeable, patient as well as personable. She is excellent at making sure my health is taken care of.

"Dr. T" is thorough in her knowledge of tests/procedures needing to be done when. I trust her. She also has a great sense of humor (Important to me.) She's young & energetic, but her nurse can be very rude at times, so heads up!??

Lacks empathy, compassion, respect. Hurries, interrupts. Does not offer referral to alternative doctor for conditions she does not choose to treat, or that she says require a specialist.

Just a note to Dr. Tallman: "Thank you so much for the wonderful care of me. Your professionalism - save my life." Good doctors understand responsibility better than privilege. Thanks for being one such doctor. Tatyana Shoykhet

Sincere interest in my personal health, follow through to implement needed tests and then review all results plus respond to my questions. This provided confidence in doing the right things for my specific situation.

Seniors may want to trust another doctor...not a warm person who values input from patients.

I have seen Dr. Tallman several times in the past year and I find her extremely intelligent and personable. She listens to my complaints and speaks honestly with me about treatment. She spends just enough time with me - not too much, but I don't feel she is rushed. And she does remember me from past appointments (whether she is just reviewing my chart before she comes in, or really remembers, I don't care). I feel valued and important.
