I was very impressed with Dr. Patel
He thought beyond my original diagnosis and is looking at other possible causes for my problem. Hopefully, he will get to the source of my issues and be able to correct it for me. I am thankful that he was so open minded at looking in a different direction than the other providers I've seen. He was very patient and explained things in an easy to understand manner. I'm hopeful he will get to the root of my problem and help me thru it.

Less Money, Less Problems
Dr. Patel had me in for a consultation after my oncologist referred me to him. He conducted a comparative analysis of my imaging, for the benefit of my understanding, with me and together, based on his expert opinion, we decided a round of antibiotics would be tried before my next scheduled imaging rather than an invasive biopsy. If the antibiotics do not have the desired effect, he would then conduct the biopsy. I appreciated this measured and more conservative approach to my specific situation. No doors were closed, but if it turns out to be an atypical infection rather than something requiring a deeper investigation, I will have saved money, time, and probably some discomfort. Staff was quick in getting me in, and during the visit they were all, including Dr. Patel, very warm, respectful, and considerate of my needs. I never felt rushed during this process either. I only wish the notes from my appointment were posted to the mythedacare portal for my review.

Doesn't care.
Have seen him several times for pulmonary issues--lung infection, chronic cough. He does not exude any confidence. YOU have to ask him to explain test results, ask him medical options to treat problem, etc. Once he said he would not see me until I had a CT scan of my lungs, but when I came to see him after I did, he seemed surprised (like he didn't know that.) His nurses are not helpful, slightly rude on phone, and just leave you in the room after the Dr. leaves. Once the Dr. left the room and immediately began socializing with his staff about his kids! I do not trust his medical expertise and his lack of caring about my conditions.
