Without my consent or knowledge Kasier appointed Dr.Masalimani on 10-2020 due to my former clinician Dr.Judith Rochon leaving Kaiser. The Behavioral Health board Dr.Masilamani sits on is in fact affecting patients in a negative fashion. If a patient is in actual need Dr.Sanjay Masilamani and his employer Kaiser are slow to or not response in any predictable fashion. This is concerning as you have put your life in his and his employers hands . You are left on your own with no recourse @ critical times in your ongoing treatment. Limits a patients treatment options. His department (Behavioral health) has become a 30-60 minute appointment revolving door of same old questions over and over ad nauseam via a statically prepared script. Last but no least will deny you medications if you do not meet his and the board he sits on one size fits all metric's which have no legal standing that I am aware of in regard to state and federal law!

Arrogant, non-caring
My former Kaiser Psychiatrist retired. It took us three years to dial in a medRegimen that has me more stable than I’ve been in a decade. Masilamani, within the first ten seconds, unilaterally decided to dismantle this regimen. He talks non-stop, does not listen, has no empathy, and is an arrogant egomaniac with dead eyes. He has approximately thirty (not an exaggeration!!!) plaques on the wall lauding his achievements, however if you look closely, the ALL are from the same trophy/plaque engraver. Surprised he didn’t have “best brownie recipe fourth grade” on the wall. On top of this, he insists I have a drug test in order to get my meds. In the four years I’ve been under the care of Kaiser, this has never been necessary. I despise this hollow man. Do no harm??? Quite opposite.

I would not recommend this physician. He talks more than he listens. His questions are geared toward completing an anxiety/depression form instead of actually listening, and dealing with the problem at hand. If you want a cookie-cutter doctor because you just need your prescription, he would be ok. Do not expect any outside-the-box thinking for complex issues, or any empathy at all. If you have to see him, make sure your medical records are correct, like your actual diagnosis and what treatments you have had. Instead of simple fixes with as-needed medications that have worked in the past, the preferred "no-harm" treatment is to zombify with very powerful drugs. We have not come far since Psychiatry of a century ago. Instead of restraining patients in an asylum, patients are being restrained chemically.

Being someone that is also in thermal health field, I am very critical of my psychiatrists. He is absolutely the BEST that I have ever had. He is calm, responsive, and sensitive to client needs.
