Dr. Samuel Steinmetz, MD

I had been to 4 other dermatologists that would conclude immediately what was wrong without hearing what I had to say or even really taking a look. Dr Steinmetz, listened and was very thorough. Mind you, he stated what I have and that he’s only seen it once before. I so appreciate that I found him.

I had been a patient for years, naively trusting in a standard treatment with limited updates to the progress of the condition. Most recently, this ongoing treatment was re-classified in billing with no communication to double the invoiced cost of the procedure. The office's argument was a change in "extensiveness" of treatment which I can attest was not the case, but even if this was the doctor's subjective opinion, he or his office did not find it necessary to be transparent of the change. Their resolution was to offer 10% off an out-of-pocket cost that increased 95% with no warning. Understanding this is a business, I ultimately was left with no choice but to pay the invoice, but would not recommend to anyone looking for a knowledgeable doctor and office who helps the patient feel prioritized. This was an unfortunate learning experience I hope this review helps others avoid.

Dr. Steinmetz did not thoroughly examine me upon my first visit and reluctantly prescribed me several different kinds of steroids after I expressed that I'd like to avoid them if possible. I like to ask a lot of questions to fully understand causes, symptoms and explore multiple treatments. He seemed very annoyed by anything I asked and made me feel rushed and unheard. Would not recommend.

I had a mole on my scalp that over time increased in size and became irregularly shaped. A year or two earlier a different dermatologist had said it would leave a divot so I was concerned and waited since I am bald. I eventually went to Dr Steinmetz to remove it and he did an excellent job of getting it entirely and in a short time I could not even tell where it had been. He was prompt in letting me know the lab results which put my mind at ease that this had been preventative and precautionary and not worse case.

He is an excellent doctor, took time to answer all of my questioins. Staff is super nice also.

Dr. Steinmetz is the most thorough Dermatologist I have ever visited. He truly cares about his patients and would recommend him to anyone looking for a brilliant and wonderful Dermatologist.

No, I would not recommend this doctor. As a first time patient with past history of troubled skin issues, this doctor did not examine me properly, instead without hesitation and no consultation with me zapped me mercifully with liquid nitrogen wherever he saw fit. Most regrettably, he zapped a healthy mole which I cherished being a family trademark - all my siblings have it. It's gone now. My wonderful, regular dermatologist had to finish the damage this doctor started, and had to cut it off.

I have seen Dr. Steinmetz on numerous occasions with great results. I am fair and freckled and spent too much time in the sun when I was young and stupid. I go to Dr. Steinmetz when I see sun damage spots become more than that. He is efficient and does not keep you waiting.

I have had bad luck with dermatologists in the past with unexpected fees. This time I was blatantly brought up pricing before accepting treatment. At the office with Dr. Steinmetz he advised that I would not have any expenses for my treatment other that the $25 co-pay. I ended up with two bills in the hundreds of dollars from his office. His team was not understanding to my concerns in rectifying the situation or collaborate the situation. I am furious for the deceit and indifference.

Doctor and staff are very friendly & professional. My family & I are very happy with the care that we receive from Dr. Steinmetz. I highly recommend him
