Rushed and in-attentive
My experience with Dr. Selesnick was really subpar. I was a new patient to him. He did not show what I call a great bedside manner. There was barely any eye contact, discussion about my results, plan of care, or what I should expect. He asked why I was there but quickly cut me off and said he knew what was going on by reviewing my chart. He talked mostly to himself, and did not ask if I had any questions, any concerns or if I understood everything. He did not even know that I already completed some of his recommendations. He was certainly in rush and took me to another room to make an appointment for something I did not need. When I asked a simple question about my condition it was brushed off with a generic answer in front of others in the waiting area. For a senior academic physician who teaches others, this was not what I expected. This might have been just a bad day for sure but I hope there is some reflections.

A Serious MD
I went to see Dr. Selesnick on what I would call a unserious condition. As a result I was in an unserious mood. Attempted to engage him in some light hearted conversation. Dr. Selesnick would have no part of it. He was all business . Wanted to diagnose my condition and resolve it. Upon reflection, I very much liked his approach and the thoughtful examination he gave me as a result.

Excellent, experienced, caring Physician!
I have been a patient of Dr. Selesneck's since 2013. He treats me like I'm his only patient. He answers all of my questions and advises me regarding my medical condition. Whenever I called his office over the years to set up follow up tests, etc, his staff (especially Erica) responded in a timely manner, if not immediately.

Consultation
I traveled from FL to NY to see Dr. Selesnick. I am confident that Dr. Selesnick is well respected by his colleagues and is an expert in his field. However, I feel he was dismissive of my symptoms and previous MRI results. As a physician/surgeon myself I am cognizant of the fact that physicians do not always have an immediate answer to a problem at hand. However, Dr. Selesnick appeared not at all interested in addressing my problems. Perhaps my problems are out of his area of interest . No further investigations, evaluations or referral to another provider that may be able to address the issues were suggested. Dr. Selesnick recommended that perhaps I try a 'diet' or 'cognitive behavioral modification'. This suggest to me that he feels I am neurotic or just crazy. Perhaps I will try some meditation and I will let you know how it goes. Very disappointing consultation. Staff members were very pleasant.

Amazing Physician
Dr. Selesnick and the neurosurgery team at MSK removed an acoustic neuroma tumor from my brain/intracranial ear canal in August 2023. From my initial appointment through discussion of treatment options, to surgery and post-surgery, Dr. Selesnick was clear, thorough, professional and caring. His reputation speaks for itself, and he was the only Dr I would trust with this difficult and potentially dangerous surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Selesnick and his team.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Selesnick
Everything about the visit was great. My husband did not get the news he would have like to get about his hearing and injury but we felt confident that there is nothing more to do. We did not wait long at all to see the doctor and when he came in to examine my husband he already has studied the MRI and report and other tests he had done. Took his time examining and explained and answered all of our questions. He did not rush and had a comforting way about him. Would recommend !

Dismissive
This was the worst doctors visit I’ve ever had. In the very brief time he spent with me I was barely given time to speak and ask questions and frankly felt like more of a bother than a patient. It seems he spent more time on the after visit notes.
