The man saved my life when I was near death in the hospital and is a great doctor! He has been my PCP for years and I don't like to chance anybody else! He has always gone the extra mile and truly cares about his patients! There's not many like him anymore.

Do not let this Doctor go anywhere near your ears. My husband went to him with a cough and as usual Dr. Mathis looked in his ears. Told him that he needed to clean the earwax out of his ears. I sat there watching my husbands face and could tell his procedure was very uncomfortable. He dug so hard that his ears were bleeding. He said his hearing has been worse since then. This was last year and has not been back to a PCP doctor and this unpleasant experience happened last year. His experience was a very bad one!

Went in with ears completely blocked, sore throat, and all the other symptoms was told it was a virus infection. He determined a secondary infection and he did not prescribe antibiotics, only cough syrup. Wasn't concerned with lack of hearing at all and only said, oh, it will open back up. Two days later, ended up at urgent care with Bronchitis diagnosis and then got antibiotics. Nerve damage to ears with PERMANENT hearing loss as determined by ENT later on! Incompetent doctor!
