He was very kind, listened, and gave us clear explanations and a plan moving forward.

My mother was in the Critical Care Unit at Lynchburg General with COVID. Dr. Dadzie told us that it was his professional opinion that my mother would remain in a vegetative state for the rest of her life, trying to talk our family into signing a DNR. Despite his unfounded and unscientific opinion, my mother is now thriving and living independently. He made it clear that he thought she would never wake up from her induced coma with no sound evidence to back his claims aside from her difficulty weaning off of sedatives. I insisted on her being evaluated by an actual ICU psychiatrist who looked over her MRIs and CT scans. His professional was that we needed to give her time, and he was correct. Had I listened to Dr. Dadzie, my mother likely wouldn't even be here today. I got the sense that he wanted her off the ventilator so that it would be available. I am disheartened by the fact that this man is practicing medicine in a way that doesn't align with his Hippocratic Oath.
