Dr. Samreen Akbar, MD

We love Dr. Akbar! She took great care of us through the loss of our first pregnancy and most recently the delivery of a healthy baby boy. Highly recommend her practice. Her staff are incredibly helpful and kind as well.

Dr. Akbar took care of me throughout my pregnancy. It was my 2nd pregnancy but she made sure all my questions and concern was answered. She is so caring from the beginning up to today. Her office is always so clean; and Marie and Ashley is always so welcoming too! My delivery went perfect, the whole staff was helpful. Im so happy with Dr. Akbar.

My experience was not so pleasant she was not informative, didn't give any advice/directives and she was very carless to my situation.

I saw Dr. Akbar for my first pregnancy and delivery. She has excellent bedside manner and is very thorough with answering questions. She has a calm demeaner and is very knowledgeable. She has a way of helping you not "freak out" over things you do not need to but will be outright with what is important. Her staff is excellent. I've called outside of working hours twice as well and received a call back within 15 minutes from Dr. Akbar.

I’m soo happy I found Dr Akbar. She is very knowledgeable and she listens to all your concerns patiently and truly cares for her patients. I had a great experience and would definitely go back for future pregnancy. Her staff is amazing as well. Her staff listens to your questions and calls back asap. Truly would recommend Dr Akbar to everyone.

Dr. Akbar has been my Gynecologist for over 7 years. I found her after I had my youngest son; my previous doctor was no longer serving me and my body the way she had in the past. Dr. Akbar is warming, amiable and kind; her bedside manner is top tier. Dr. Akbar's staff has been warming and nice, which is always a plus when you're going to a doctors office. Maria has been there since I've been going (she's sweet), this says a lot about how the doctor treats her staff. The past couple of years I had been suffering, and she attempted to help me. It seemed like there wasn't anything that would help me. I realized this was affecting my everyday life, I was becoming angrier. This year, before my annual check-up, I went in to talk with her, and the way she sat to listen to me made me feel so good that I cried. She offered me a solution that would change my quality of life, and she answered all of my questions. I feel good, and I'm much happier!

I saw Dr. Akbar for my first pregnancy and have nothing but amazing things to say about her and her entire staff! Dr. Akbar is extremely knowledgeable, warm, and always took the extra time to answer any questions I had during my checkups. I was scheduled for an induction but ended up needing a C-section (unplanned) due to concerns regarding the baby's heartrate/ability to tolerate the induction. Dr. Akbar did an incredible job with the procedure and reassured me the entire time. I will absolutely be going back to Dr. Akbar for all future pregnancies!

I just moved to IL and got pregnant a couple months later and had no idea where to go. I had a friend refer Dr. Akbar so I went and was never once disappointed! She is very friendly, knowledgeable and has mama and baby’s best interest! After having 5 babies, she was my best experience during pregnancy and delivery!

I was blessed to get Referred by my friend for Dr samreen akbar however she was far from my place i opted to choose her and now glad that made that decision. After 24 th week i got complications in pregnancy and she handled it very well . Now after going through all the worries i had natural delivery that's only bcz Dr Samreen took decision on perfect time . I and my family owe a big thanks to her and her staff too . Thanks

She is very thoughtful and she makes you feel comfortable and secure throughout the pregnancy . When I was in labor, she explained thoroughly my options and gave me the confidence that I can still go with natural delivery especially during this pandemic . She is also very knowledgeable; her staff is always friendly so that helps as well!

This was my first pregnancy and Dr. Akbar took great care of me. She was recommended to me by a friend and I am so happy I chose her as my OB/GYN. She is all about the health of both the mother and the baby. She was very chill with what she said I could/couldn't do during the pregnancy. She made me feel relaxed and was always supportive of my decisions. She is very respectful and aware of what your needs are and is willing to cater your delivery to you. She was very calm and collected in the OR and even cheered me on while pushing! She's got a very understanding attitude and is a great doctor. Definitely will recommend her to any of my friends that decide on having children!

Absolutely wonderful doctor! I never felt rushed at an appointment, and she took the time to answer all of my questions. Highly recommend!

Worst staff!! I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone, I was sent to the emergency because of excessive vomiting and bleeding and I passed out while my sister in law was trying to reach Samreen Akbar but the staff said they can’t page her unless the patient is going to labor I don’t even know if it’s legal or not!!! She strictly told her staff not to page me unless my patient is going to labor , thank god she’s not my doc anymore and if you all are okay with this thumb rule then it’s fine but I would say if you’re becoming a mom you would want to go to somewhere who actually cares about you and your baby!

I am so happy I found Dr. Akbar! She is the best at what she does! She delivered both my son's via c-setion as well as the kids of 4 of my friends! We all love her and would recommend Dr Akbar to anyone!

Very personable and caring. Definitely recommend. You can tell she loves what she does and loves her patients.

Dr. Akbar is by far the best physician I have ever come across! She has amazing bed-side manners. Is willing to answer all your questions and your spouse's questions. She gives you her opinion and best judgement for your case. Dr. Akbar will call you back during time of need. During my pregnancy, I had a few questions/concerns, she will squeeze you in her schedule even if she was booked. During my delivery, she was a great coach she made my delivery smooth and gave me motivation and ease.

I was referred to Dr. Akbar by a friend. I started seeing her when I found out I was pregnant. The staff is wonderful and Dr. Akbar is great! I had to have an emergency c-section 1.5 weeks ago and Dr. Akbar did an amazing job. I would highly recommend her!
