I love this doctor and I loved her husband, Vartan
Telehealth
Dr. Samira is my primary. First time I have opted to have a primary. I have always relied on specialist as my primary until he retired. Dr S. and her husband were my in laws doctors throughout Covid. They were unfailingly responsive and helpful. My in laws, Marian and Ed, were two very sick old people with literally every co-morbidity one could name. And I was losing my mind with worry over them as was my husband. Both Dr. Samira and Dr. Vartan, who was sadly lost to us through cancer recently, were always ready with data, prescriptions and encouragement. Dr. Vartan was much more knowledgeable about Dad's cardiac status then was his cardiologist. And certainly more concerned. Dr. Samira has courageously carried on the practice and she is raising her sweet son. . Saw her today for a telehealth appointment. Felt the same compassion and competence. Lots of questions about my symptoms. She is a careful doc. Also her office staff is very responsive. Jan has been unfailing helpful to me.

She said my hair was looking lighter since she saw me last and when I said that I’ve been in the sun a lot, she said “do you wear a swimsuit? How do you have the confidence to do that?” AWFUL. RUDE. And she’s not thin, herself! She also spent zero time with me and fat shamed me even though I’m not even that big.

I've been seeing her for 4 years (not by choice) and she's very judgemental about both my medical preferences, and my personal life. Frequently minimizes my concerns or criticizes any alternative or lifestyle I'd like to try before meds. Also they will hold your medication refills for RANSOM until you attend your next appointment -- causing you to have a gap in critical medication and going through unnecessary withdrawal.

Worst dr office experiences I’ve ever had. New to area, moved from another state. Couldn’t get 1st appointment for 3 months & they never even requested let alone reviewed my previous records. I had to ask for yearly blood work & they never called with results for a month to let me know cholesterol was high & wanted to do retest in 3 months. Supposed to mail a script to have done but never got it. I called to remind & they again said they would mail it but still haven’t gotten it 3 months later. When I got sick in early March they couldn’t give me an appointment til May. So dr talked to me over the phone a week later. Today I called the office at 9:30am for an issue with sinus & allergies that needs an antibiotic prescribed & was told by drs assistant that Dr would return my call & discuss or call in a prescription. At 5:15pm I called the office again cause I have heard nothing & they are closed & I was told to call again tomorrow! Called pharmacy also, no script called in.

office does not return calls on a timely basis, if at all. she will have the answering service return your call even if it is a RX question with: "go to ER or UrgentCare." lab work ordered by her was never discussed with me, calls . regarding this were not returned. guess I was dropped because I complained, had to go to another dr.

I saw her one time and it was one time too many. I went in for a yearly physical and annual pap. I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable while lying on a table being as vulnerable as one can be. I have PCOS and all she said to me was ‘please don’t tell me you shave your face’ I don’t. I see an esthetician regularly but what in the world kind of bed side manner is that. She has none. She refused to refill my daily allergy medicine and told me just to switch to over the counter. My skin was crawling for me to leave by the end.

Terrible!!! she kept telling me to run to the er instead of helping me. If I called her when I had an urgent health matter. She wouldn't call back I was being ignored. Unprofessional!!!

Dr Samira is friendly and explains things well. My only issue is that it seems there is a long list of things she won't do. She's very reluctant to prescribe medications, even antibiotics. She either tries to recommend some over the counter way to deal with issues or gives a referral if you're lucky. I need a doctor that isn't afraid to say "yeah, you need medicine, that's what it's made for". Because if I wanted over the counter, I'd go to a store. And if I have to see multiple different doctors and explain the same thing over and over, what is the point of a PCP? Samira and her husband are decent, skilled doctors, just not the kind I need.

UTTERLY USELESS AND INCOMPETENT. I came in for a general health physical for nursing school and she flat out refused to provide any opinion. She literally said, "I don't know anything about you," despite conducting a physical and having knowledge of my previous year's physical with full blood work, yet she was still able to justify her $300 cost for visit which consisted of listening to my breathing and checking my ears. She was extremely condescending, arrogant, and had no regard for the position that she had put me in. She is the epitome of someone who just shows up for a paycheck and would not even have a job without her credentials because she certainly does not provide anything of value for her patients.

Horrible communication throughout the 2 years of being a patient. Refuses routine prescription refills on maintenance medication in order to force an appt to bill my insurance. Does not return phone calls or can not be reached during published office hours.

I am very pleased with my healthcare from Dr. Samira Karakossian because of her gentle manner and thoroughness. Her staff is equally professional, proficient and kind. It is great comfort that I don't have to wait weeks before they are able to see me if I have an urgent need. Both doctors are great!

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Karakossian. She is evasive, lacks everyday knowledge and is not a good listener. She doesn't take care of her own health yet wants to tell patients how to live.
