Dr Taneja is FANTASTIC. I was out of the hospital the day after kidney surgery and walking a mile within a week. He is caring, professional and the finest in the field

Dr. Samir Taneja
Dr. Samir Taneja is brilliant, compassionate and empathetic. Dr. Taneja performed a Radical Robotic Prostatectomy on my husband (Gleason 7) in June of 2023. The Dr. and he’s entire staff included us in every step of the process. We truly felt us if we were on the care team. We were well informed about every test and procedure prior to/after the surgery. We received (via the NYU Portal/App) appointment/test reminders, procedural information, stress/meditation videos and etc. Due to us being well informed we knew that it was important to follow ALL of the care instructions provided.Unfortunately, the cancer had spread outside of the Prostate so a larger margin had to be removed. Fortunately for my husband Dr. Taneja performed his surgery. After the catheter was removed my husband never experienced leakage. Eleven days after surgery my husband experienced his first erection. The quality of the erection wasn’t the best but it was a great start.

Surgery went well, everything else....
A little cold but apparently a good surgeon. Before surgery I asked about getting some aftercare for home immediately after surgery as I live alone. He said he would put the request in my chart. I think that means the social workers will check what can be provided. Crickets. Was sent home with the wrong post surgery treatment supplies, bags. I had my mandated escort, retired nurse, pick me up at hospital. I called the nurses desk immeditaely after arriving at home to report I was given the wrong equipment. The nurse at hospiptal said he would walk me through how to use it. Once it was clear I was given the wrong supplies he then shouted at me that I would have to "get creative" with what I had been given. At this point I am home, alone and told by nurse Glen I would have to come back to the hospital to pick up correct equip, (no escort needed), or it could be shipped. The equipment arrived at my home 4 days later.

I would 100% recommend Dr. Taneja. He is the best.
I was a very apprehensive about my choice for surgery but after I met and spoke to Dr. Taneja I was sure I made the right choice. Dr. Taneja and his entire team made me feel supported in every way before and after surgery. He is a blessing to the medical field.

Absolutely the most frustrating, difficult, in fact impossible office I've ever dealt with. The failed in every way, and Dr Taneja did not, apparently care. For example they did not send meds prescription to my pharmacy in time for procedure, nor instructions for preparations for procedure. Just completely inept. Then, the office is unreachable for long periods. Stay away.

Dr. Taneja performed a radical robotic prostatectomy on me in March 2018. The Gleason 8 tumor was on the edge of the prostate. 3 months later I am happy to report that the nerve sparing surgery was a success and I am cancer free. From the biopsy through post-op Dr. Taneja was kind, understanding, patient and caring. I also met with two other top urological oncologists at Mt. Sinai and Sloan Kettering. In the end I am so glad I went with Dr. Taneja. He saved my life.
