Outstanding Person and an Exceptional Doctor.
I recently saw Dr. Macwan and his staff. Dr. Macwan is Board Certified in Neuromuscular Medicine and Neurology and is well respected and knowledgable in his field of expertise. I found him to be a kind approachable down to earth and caring person. He answered all of my questions and prescribed the most up to date treatment available. The appointment was long but it was also thorough. I didn't wait in the patient room for more than a few minutes before been seen by the Resident Dr. Kia and then by Dr. Macwan and his team. The appointment was seamless and extremely expeditious for my treament and recovery. I would give this office my highest reccomendation. You will be well taken care of and in good hands. Peter Kadar

Disrespectful, Rude, and Unprofessional
This doctor was unprofessional, rude and treated my 81 year old Mother with disrespect. She asked the assistant how much longer of a wait after being in the room for 30 minutes. Dr. Samir P. Macwan came into the room later and told her she needed to be more appreciative that she even had an appointment with him. He scared her to the point that she didn't want to be in the room with him alone and chose to leave the office without treatment. She was in tears and shaking after her experience with this Doctor.

Very Caring, Be Patient, Worth It!
I have seen Dr. Macwan several times. What he may lack in charisma, he makes up for with genuine concern and caring. I have been in pain from a cervical spinal cord surgery and bleed. He has used innovative interventions, and referred me to specialists to look for possible interventions. He is busy, but he teaches neurology interns who have been very good. If you need extra time to talk, let the front office know when you arrive. They have made some time for him. He is committed and really listens. He and I have partnered using trial and error techniques. If you are unhappy after a first impression, I recommend giving him three or four visits and then ask him for a recap and expectations, or where/what else you should try. This is my experience as a patient.

This guy has way too much self-importance or is highly afraid of inheriting another neurologist's mistakes. My doctor referred me to another neurologist for a nerve conductivity study, then referred me to Macwan for follow-up. We confirmed a follow-up appointment time and date. How Macwan didn't communicate his rules to other providers is beyond me, but verbatim from my doctor, "Also, Dr. Samir Macwan (neurology), to whom we had referred patient for input on his leg pain, will not see patient because he has 'already seen another neurologist;' apparently this is one of Dr. Macwan's strict rules... and this applies EVEN if the only thing patient saw the other neurologist for was his nerve conduction studies." The office staff phone etiquette is mediocre, at best. Keep shopping, folks. Life is too short for things like this.

Didn't even get to a visit due to COVID. However, I tried to get an insurance hold removed to do alternate treatment. The nurse named Charles was incredibly rude. He complained that they spent all this time doing the paperwork for approval and now it's all for nothing (it's a bummer, I get it, but seriously?). He then hung up on me while he as still talking to him. When I called back I was told, "I didn't hang up on you, I was just done with the conversation" I replied what's the difference. He said to cancel it would "take like 6 hours oh hold with insurance... you can at least understand that, right?"and " maybe we will get to it later this week when we have time." I have never been spoken to this way. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this office. You don't need these people putting needles in you.

Very impressed. Dr. Mac is personable and professional, a combination that made for a pleasant and reassuring visit. His support staff also handled themselves with efficiency and care. I have produced a number of medical tv series and have seen hundreds of docs in action. I can tell the real from the phony. This practice is totally authentic. Only quibble is the office is hard to find in the complex.

I was referred to Dr. Macwan 6 years ago because I had some walking issues. My neighbor and I walked an hour daily, 6 days a week. After he and his colleague observed my gait etc. Dr Mac talked with myself and my spouse. I started on medication and a second med. the next year. I see Dr. Mac regularly and have total confidence in his approach. After 6 years i find our relationship comforting and supportive.

Dr. Macwan is largely a medical bureaucrat. He follows rigid procedures without any sign of recognizing the needs of individual patients. He denies pain meds to patients flatly. In my case he passed off an injectible NSAID when he knew I was already taking an oral NSAID. Of course the injection had no impact. His nurse openly admits that physicians are withholding certain classes of meds as a reaction to the political climate caused by overprescribed pain meds.

I was recommended by another neurologist. I really like him and his staff. I am dealing with migraines and have hopes to get rid of them. Dr. Macwan was clear as to what he was doing and what I should expect. He also has a sense of humor

My wife has trigeminal Neuralgia we had our primary care physician make an emergency appointment with this Dr. The pain she was experiencing were lasting 2 to 3 HOURS, she was in the Emergency Hospital, the first appointment with this Dr. she could not make due to the pain. This Dr. bedside manner was terrible, he was cavalier and ambivalent about her condition. When he was interviewing her he was abrupt said in a harsh tone "I'M not getting what I need"" You come her with DEMANDS".

DR. MACWAN WAS RECOMMENDED AS AN EXCELLENT NEUROLOGIST, BUT HE WAS DISAPPOINTING & AND HIS STAFF IS TRULY INCOMPETENT. I HAVE TALKE TO 5 DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO DR. MACWAN'S ASSITANT. NOT ONE OF THEM EVER RETURNED MY CALLS REGARDING SCHEDULING FOR AN MRI. DON'T RISK YOUR HEALTH WITH THIS GROUP THEY ARE SO INEPT & DISORGANIZED IT IS TRULY SCARY THAT NO ONE KNOWS WHATTHEY ARE DOING. I'VE FOUND ANOTHER DOCTOR WHO ACTUALLY LOOKS ME IN THE EYE &TALKS TO ME.

What do you call the doctor who graduates last in their class? Doctor. I have a serious -- as of yet undiagnosed neurologic condition -- which a recent MRI of my brain shows, and Dr. Macwan totally dismissed. He did not seem to have looked through my prior medical records and relied on his resident to run the bulk of the appointment. I've since been seen by a neurology team at a major academic institution and the difference in the quality of care -- and bedside manner -- is night and day.
