Colonoscopy
Dr. Marupudi is an excellent doctor. He cared for my mother more than 20 years ago in an emergency situation and he has done numerous colonoscopy procedures on both my husband and me. Wouldn’t go to anyone else. Staff is excellent.

Marginally competent doctor. Poor staff
I had a colonoscopy done on 3-21-22. The doctor seems competent but the staff are not professional. Twice my prep nurse knocked my IV line around, almost pulling out the needle, causing pain. She didn't notice she did it either time. When inserting the needle she pressed down HARD, which hurt, to keep it from bleeding, she said. I've had plenty of IV needles and none needed such high, painful pressure. She had trouble inserting the needle right after telling me I was lucky she was good at this. She wasn't. The aftercare nurse was about as competent as the prep nurse. She had trouble removing the IV needle, then casually applied the bandage to keep the area from bruising. The bandage fell off before I got to my car. She gave me a sheet with nutritional advice that is about 10 years behind current science, though lots of doctors are behind the science so I don't blame the nurse for that particular detail. I would not recommend this physician, mainly due to the poor staff situation.

I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Marupudi 10 years ago and he was friendly and answered my questions. Today I was referred by my PCP for another one. Dr. Marupudi did not say hello or shake my hand when he entered the room. He seemed angry and almost irritated with me being there. He just confirmed when my procedure would be and then just walked out! Didn't ask if I had any questions or even say good bye! Office staff friendly, but did not seem to understand my insurance co-pay or billing even though it's BC/BS and the same one I've had for the past 10 yrs. I will not be going back.

DO NOT GO TO A FREE STANDING CLINIC LIKE THIS ONE TO HAVE ANY PROCEDURE DONE ... they are NOT a surgical center and NOT a hospital. They are NOT equipped to handle a medical emergency should something go wrong while the patient is under anesthesia. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK! Close family member aspirated during procedure and later in the day had to call 911 upon discharge. Patient ended up on ventilator in intensive care unit at BSA with aspiration pneumonia fighting for their life on ventilator.

I had some issues and questions after my surgery. The nurse says in the beginning just call, she's there to help. Well, if you actually do this, you will be brushed off with the same answer for everything and be treated rudely. I wish I had gone with a different Dr. The receptionist and other office ladies are friendly, however.
