Dr. Sam Moghtader, MD

Dr. Moghtader has been my primary doctor for almost six years. He is a wonderful doctor. I was with him at the West LA medical center and then he moved to Baldwin Hills which is a little more far from my house but thats ok because the parking is free and much easier. He has helped me with a lot of medical problems including getting my diabetes under control which was a big problem for a long time before. He also helps me not to have spend too much money on copays by scheduling me a telephone appt whenever he can. He is always on time. I don't think I have ever had to wait more than a few minutes to see him. I have recommended him as a primary physician to a lot of my family and friends.

I took my mom to Dr. Sam because her regular doctor was on maternity leave. He listened to all her issues and came up with a plan and it was a nice surprise that he spoke spanish.

I had a knee injury. My ortho appointment is pushed out 3 weeks. I have to wait over 5 hours in a crowded ER because his office refuses to return my calls or messages. He keeps denying the pain med refill. Do yourself a favor and find a real doctor

I was having a miscarriage I went to Urgent care at West LA I said I’d like to get checked with an ultrasound to see if my baby is alive. Dr. Sam Moghtader said they don’t do ultrasounds at the urgent care. That sounded not right to me. I said this is the reason I came here there must be an ultrasound. He said no they don’t do that. He also told me what’s going to change if you find out with the ultrasound or not. If anything happens it will. Go home and call your doctor. I felt like he just brushing me off. I just wanted to know that piece of information was very important to me and he took that opportunity away from me carelessly. I had no choice I had to leave. It was like a joke. I went in and paid my money to hear from someone “hey go home call your dr, what’s going to change if you find out” 1 week later I had a miscarriage. I went to see a nurse she told me that she works at the urgent care and they do ultrasound for who needs to be seen. Also who can call their doctor?

I was scheduled to do a video appointment with him through Kaiser Permanente. I waited in the video chat room for 25 minutes and he never showed up. And then in the notes, he wrote that I no showed him. I rescheduled an appointment with a nurse practitioner afterwards, and talked to Web Services, and they said that even if there are technical difficulties with the video chat, this doctor should have called me on my phone number to confirm the appointment, if he noticed that I was not in the video chat room. He never called or emailed me, and instead just left a note that I no-showed him. Highly unprofessional. I would recommend someone else.

Dr. Moghtader always takes the time to address my concerns and make me feel at ease. He is very friendly, patient, and understanding.
