No help at all
I have been in to see Dr. Featherston twice in two months with severe back pain on my left side. I am a new patient and neither time did I get an examination or even educated guesses at what it could be. As a matter of fact no exam at all. I was told they are only allowed 20 minutes per patient. I have never heard of this before. I needed a referral for something different so my question is what do I do about hurting? I guess go to the ER when something might have been able to be done at the doctors appointments. Meanwhile I’m out 80 dollars for nothing.

Refusal to see established patient with COVID
My mother who never complains, let alone ask to see a doctor, tried to get in to get chest x-rays as she says, "feels like someone sitting on her chest" and mention tested positive for COVID was told she could not come in and would get prescription called in. When picked up prescription for her and mentioned my frustration with this doctor, pharmacist was not surprised to hear it was this doctor. I found an Urgent Care that will be more than willing to assist her and I plan on finding her another doctor for future care.

My doctor in Jacksonville decided to retire after being my primary care physician for 27 years. It was time for me to find a doctor here on the island since I have lived here for 25 years. The thought of replacing one of the best doctors that I have ever had was stressful. Luckily, two of my customers highly recommended Dr. Featherston and the transition was incredibly smooth, professional and I knew after one visit that I had found my new doctor. His mannerisms, attentive nature, medical recommendations and patience made me feel confident & comfortable while analyzing my last 27 years of medical history. In doing so, he recommended some changes that has already improved my lifestyle. I am a “Happy Camper” with my new doctor!

Mediocre care. Might be adequate for a sports physical or if you don’t actually need a doctor. Office manager also rude and unprofessional.

Online appointment set up, next day appointment (no wait). Dr is prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Takes the time necessary, no sense of being rushed. Took extra time to show how I could save $$$ on prescription.

Dr. Sam is terrific. He's very friendly and easy to speak with. He spends whatever time he needs to with you. He checks to see what kind of insurance and deductibles you have when prescribing medicine and tests to try and keep your costs down. He is easy to get an appointment with and minimal waiting time once in office. His fees are low.
