I was referred to her by my regular doc. Once I finally saw her she was all business and wouldn't listen to anything I had questions about. All she wanted to do was freeze off some moles (i guess) off the top of my head. I couldn't see what she was doing. I assumed the things were actually there. I asked her about a couple of skin tags and she interrupted me saying she'd get to those (she never did). She then saw something on my lower chest & said she needed to remove it & have it tested. She gave me a shot to numb the area then proceeded to start cutting before it was numb. When i said something about she gave me a look, stopped, waited for a few seconds then said OK and started digging again. She had no touch and left me a nice nickle size scar to remember her by. After I asked when I'd get the results on the thing she cut off. I was told to call them as they don't call pts with results. I started getting her bills once a week for my copay right after the apt. Never will I go back.

I have been going to Dr. Simjee for years and was satisfied with care. However my last appointment I went 15 minutes early and office was locked (3:00). The one before, the reception denied I had one. I won’t be returning. I tried to call as well and recording says bust. Unprofessional staff.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in a doctor’s office. I took all of the products I’m currently using, Dr. Simjee only acknowledged 2 as acne treatments, and didn’t even realize one was salicylic acid until I told her it was. Then she was insensitive when addressing the condition of my skin. She said “it was really bad,” made a point to talk about how I had “so many cysts and scarring,” it was “worse than a teenager’s skin” at my age. She said she wouldn’t waste her time and just put me on accutane. I asked if there were other options before Accutane, and then said antibiotics. I informed her about a medical issue I have surrounding antibiotics, she told me I had “too many limitations to be treated” and my acne would only get worse. In a matter of 30 mins she made me feel embarrassed, confirmed my insecurities, the social stigma, and made me feel hopeless about getting my skin under control. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Found a different practice. Lacking in bedside manners.

My mother had an appointment with Simjee to check out various spots on her legs. The Dr diagnosed her with actinic keraeoses and prescribed her to use florouacil (a chemotherapy based topical cream). My mom then got a second medical opinion, this time from her cousin, and told her she did not have the cancer diagnosis actinic keraeoses.

My experience with Dr. Salma Simjee was excellent. I found her to be a consummate Professional. I had a cyst that she removed. Her manners were excellent as could be expected from a Medical Professional. I would certainly recommend her to all my friends for dermatological problems.
