Dr. Sahithi Pothuganti, MD

She saw me for all of maybe 5 minutes and insisted that I had a sinus infection. She asked me if I had been experiencing seasonal allergies; I told her I hadn't. She said if the antibiotics didn't fix it, then she would send me to an ENT. I reached out to her because the antibiotics did not work and I never heard from her again. My symptoms worsened and I started losing vision. I did my own research. I found Intracranial Hypertension and went to an Ophthalmologist to confirm. Within a month I had to get a stent put into my brain to resolve the issue. I was okay for a time, but then symptoms started returning.After further research, I discovered that an acne medication that I was on has been linked to IIH. Had Dr. Pothuganti taken 3 minutes to review the medications that I was on, she would have seen that minocycline has a contraindication for increased intercranial pressure. I would have saved $4,000 and 7 months of feeling miserable and wouldn't have had to undergo surgery.

I had recently had a baby when I went to see Dr. Pothuganti. I was trying to establish a PCP near me in Little Rock. My uterus prolapsed and I was having trouble urinating. She told me “that’s normal after having 3 kids.” She never did any lab work or even examined me. I ended up having to have emergent surgery on the thing that was “normal after having three kids.” She doesn’t assess her patients, nor is she obviously concerned about the health of her patients. Why she chose to practice medicine is beyond me.
