Dr. Sagir Bera, DO

I was reluctant to make an appointment with Dr Bera because of the negative reviews but he is the primary Care MD for my partner and he really liked him so I made the appointment. As a Registered Nurse I pay close attention to a physician's assessment and how they treat me. I found Dr Bera to be VERY friendly and very thorough in his assessments. He spent time with me and offered several suggestions on how to improve my health. He was very prompt and I was able to complete the annual physical appointment, have labs drawn and get all of my vaccines updated all within 1 hour. I would definitely recommend Dr Bera.

Poor patient care. He was very rushed from the start, complaining about his overfull schedule. He didn't seem to want to answer questions. He overbilled my insurance for services I didn't receive.

"I appreciated the doctor's knowledge, but I had concerns about their communication style, especially when discussing my feedback regarding the care received. The tone used felt patronizing and made me uncomfortable. It's important for patients to feel respected and listened to, rather than feeling like they are asking for a favor. I hope the doctor can work on being more receptive to feedback and adopt a more supportive approach to care. Currently, the doctor appears reluctant to consider different opinions and tends to shut them down, which can hinder open communication and collaboration."

Not only does this doctor not care about his patients, he doesn't make time for them, doesn't look into their history, cancels appointments on unsuspecting patients. Honestly at my appointment recently he looked and sounded under the influence. Typically if you ask for an apt. at Toluca Lake, you have an option to see your primary or a doctor with a free schedule. Dr. Bera's schedule is free for a reason. Don't ever take an appointment with this monster of a human. I don't know how much his parent paid for his "medical degree" but he's the definition of a doctor you can't trust.

Been many many times. Sees me promptly, is attentive to my needs and point of view, remembers me, and offers useful avenues of treatment and referrals

This is the first time I’d met with Dr. Bera. I’d worked with Doctor by Shore for years until she moved away this year. Dr. Bera disagreed with Dr. Shore's treatment of me over the past few years. Treatment I’ve found very effective and permitted me a normal life. I've been on and anti depressant and a Xanax-like pill that I use in case of occasional panic attacks. Small dose, very occasional. Averages out to maybe once a month. I rarely get a refill. Maybe once every two or three years. Dr. Bera said I wouldn’t have panic attacks if I saw a therapist. Refused to refill. I clearly do not have a history of using this often, so was really upset to suddenly be treated like an addict by someone who has only seen me this single time. I have already seen therapists and learned techniques. They are mildly helpful but don’t cure my panic attacks. To be told essentially “it’s all in your head”, is very demoralizing. If you've any mental health concerns, you'll find no help from Dr. Bera.

Very superficial and uncaring physician. Doesn’t listen to you, and is very judgmental and opinionated. Rigid and dogmatic, with very poor diagnostic skills.

Avoid this person at all cost.
