Excellent Foot and Ankle Specialist
Very friendly, informative and explained everything very well and simply. I liked the explanation she gave me about the status of my foot and the progression I have been experiencing when wearing my custom orthotics. It has made a major difference with the structure of my arch. I would highly recommend Dr. Malhotra to my family and friends.

Please do not see Dr. Malhotra if you have any kind of diabetic wound or ulcer on your foot. I was 26 years old with diabetes, when I developed a water blister on my right big toe. Dr. Malhotra gave me incorrect medical advice and told me to soak my foot twice a day in epsom salt for 10 minutes, apply silver ointment, and wrap my big toe. Knowing what I know now, she had the nerve to tell me Neosporin was "too strong" and to use silver ointment. I told her the wound was draining constant fluid, it was soaking through the dressing every 30 minutes to an hour, and she told me to go down to soaking once a day. I listened to her. She said the dark purple skin was "bruising" but this is where it later turned black! I ended up getting gangrene in 15 days and I lost my right big toe. I followed up with Dr. Malhotra multiple times within the 15 days. I remember on the last day when she told me she was going to prescribe "light" oral antibiotics and to go to the ER and they may scrape off a little tissue from my toe, they did more than that! I was hospitalized, lost my toe and had to be on IV antibiotics for 6.5 weeks because the infection had spread to my bone and bloodstream. My 2nd and 3rd digits on that foot have broken since my big toe is not there to support my weight. I had to get the 2nd digit repaired because it turned into a hammer toe. I wish I could go back and think harder and realize her medical advice did not make sense, but I was just so young, scared, and listened to every word Dr. Malhotra said. Years later, I had a blister on my other foot's big toe that was even bigger than the one I had when I was 26. I kept it covered with sterile gauze, didn't get it wet at all, was prescribed oral antibiotics and it healed. I have talked to other doctors and they agreed I shouldn't have soaked it or applied ointment because it needed to be in a DRY enviroment. I wish I could give her -5 stars. I makes so depressed and upset looking at my deformed foot that could have been avoided. I looked at her website after the amputation, and it says she treats diabetic foot wounds and ulcers. I would have more respect for Dr. Malhotra if she had referred me to another doctor since she clearly didn't know what she was doing and I suffer because of it.

Dr. Malhotra is a top tier surgeon. After I suffered a terrible injury, she recommended surgery, but thoroughly explained the pros and cons of going through the operation. I am so glad to have followed her advice! Almost fully recovered ahead of schedule. Thank you, Dr. M!

Dr. Malhotra was wonderful and patient. I had seen another doctor for a tennis injury, and wanted a second opinion. Dr. Malhotra spent time explaining my diagnosis, and even reviewed her injury prevention protocol for future reference. She has a sports background herself, so had great empathy for my situation. Very highly recommended.

Dr. Malhotra performed my bunion surgery to correct a lifelong problem. She was extremely thorough and one of the most competent surgeons I have ever come across. Most doctors are in and out of rooms, but Dr. M spent a considerate amount of time at each visit, going over every little detail with me. I will always highly recommend her to all my family and friends.

I had been seeing Dr Malhotra for over three years. Consistently, I complained of arch pain in my right foot. My pleas for an MRI this past March were finally honored. On my follow up visit, Dr Malhotra dismissed the radiologist's findings and assured me that the mass found was a "pocket of blood." She gave me a steroid shot, unguided by any machine, assuming she'd hit the location, and assured me I'd be fine. At Hopkins, on Aug 3rd, a plastic surgeon went through five layers of my foot to expose a growing Schwannoma medial plantar nerve sheath tumor -- exactly what my research led me to believe I had -- for the accompanying neurosurgeon to carefully remove from the nerve. There is no shame in admitting you don't know what something is. There is nothing wrong with admitting a second opinion is needed, or that a problem is out of your scope of experience. But to dismiss a fellow doctor's findings and opinions should never ever be the go-to decision for any doctor.

I gained some weight during the pandemic and developed some bad Achilles tendinitis after being a tad overzealous on my Peloton. Dr. Malhotra not only addressed the tendon issues but also helped guide me towards a healthier overall lifestyle. I was very happy with her comprehensive approach and care.

Dr. Malhotra was extremely professional, kind, and patient. Due to COVID, I was very hesitant to come into the office for my ankle, so we did a telemedicine visit initially which went very well. Then I came into the office for follow up and the experience was wonderful. She gave me a comprehensive treatment plan, and I am now fully healed. She specifically knows how to treat people who are trying to stay active. Highly recommended!

I came to Dr. Malhotra with a broken bone in my foot the Friday before Thanksgiving...not only did she repair my foot before the holiday, but she's followed me through no weight, the boot and PT to walk again without a limp in 3 months! I'm more than thrilled and would recommend her to all who need help with their feet or ankles!

I was able to run the Disney and Boston Marathons thanks to Dr. M. I had been seeing a different doctor and was recommended to Dr. Malhotra by my running store. She made me orthotics and not only that but went over an injury prevention protocol. I had no idea I was also deficient in vitamin D and nearly avoided a stress fracture. It takes a special kind of patience to treat a hard headed runner (my fellow runners know what I mean!) If you are trying to stay active and healthy she's the best!!

I chuckled at the previous comment. Some people think they know more than the doctors, come in with a nasty attitude, and demand treatments they found on Google. Glad he went elsewhere! Dr. Malhotra is a life saver. My entire family, including my children, have been coming to her for years. She is the only doctor who will explain everything to the T, and will do what is right. If you actually listen to her and follow instructions, you will be doing yourself a favor. Wonderful experience.
