Dr. Ryon Hennessy, MD

My appointment was at 3pm and i wasn't seen until 4:30. The nurse that saw me before he came in was so rude. When he finally came in to see me, he rushed through everything and didn't even fully explain what my issue is or what i needed to do and left me no time to ask any questions. When i went out to the lobby, there were many unhappy patients also waiting for a long time. This was my second time seeing him, i will never see him again. Left there in so much pain and in tears. Never experienced this with any doctor at Elmhurst Clinic.

Booked an appointment with Dr. Hennessy for 11:30am on 7.22.24. Arrived early, and was brought back at 11:30 and put into a room. I proceeded to wait until 12:07pm for someone to come in. It was Dr. Hennessy's assistant. She asked a few questions, and suggested I get an x-ray. I was then told I would review the results with the Dr. Hennessy. However, the same assistant came back and gave me her opinion of what is wrong with my knee. Did not show me any of the X-Rays. Suggested physical Therapy in a month. And that was it. I am in terrible pain, I made an appointment to see the doctor and discuss options to relieve this pain. Instead, I am pretty sure I was completely forgotten about and instead of apologizing and owning it they did their best to wing it and have an assistant do everything. The assistant seemed knowledgeable and I doubt this was her fault, but I will not be returning.

Had an appt for a meniscus tear. Was kept waiting an hour past my appt time. When Dr Hennessey finally arrived, it was less an appt about my knee and more a lecture on my weight, and how he won't do a surgery on patients who say they will lose weight after the surgery. His attitude is apparent from the way he made notes in my chart. There was no empathy, no care for my current pain level, even when I mentioned several painful pops in my knee since the initial injury. My knee hurt more after his 10 second "exam" than it did when I arrived. Will not be continuing with him.

Dr. Hennessy performed multiple knee operations on me and got me back on my feet quickly. He assured me everything would turn out great. Not only is he a fantastic surgeon, he is one of the nicest people to talk to. He really shows that he cares. He made me feel so confident going into the surgeries, I knew everything would turn out great. Do not hesitate to when considering Surgeons. He is the best!

Dr Hennessy maybe a good doctor But I would not recommend him he seems as if he could care less and you will wait in his office for ever just for a appointment.He did my hip replacement and I regret it a year later ..

Treated like a valued patient from the start of my visit. From the receptionist to the surgery scheduler, everyone made me feel "at home" and very welcomed. Dr. Hennessy took as much time with me as I needed. Never felt like he was rushing to go off to another patient. Very personable and informative.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hennessy for sciatica and lower back pain....I have seen his partners in the practice for shoulder surgery. Thinking he would be just a knowledgeable and professional as Dr. Meisles and Dr. O'Conner... I was greatly disappointed! His arrogance and terrible bedside manor was not what I expected after going to the other doctors in the practice. Needless to say I found a wonderful, compassionate and very knowledgeable doctor to step up to the plate! Dr. Darwish of Hinsdale Orthopedics I would never in a million years recommend Dr. Hennessy to anyone. After talking with others who went to a consult with him I realized I wasn't alone. Shame on you Dr. Hennessy for treating people like the crap you made me to feel of myself!! Not once did you take the time to know me or my problem....you just assumed I sat on the couch eating bonbons all day....never knowing or asking how much I still did in a day to work through this terrible pain!
