Vision never improved after retinal tear surgery
Performed surgery on small retinal tear. Vision was worse after the surgery, which I feel he botched. He did not want to see me again after my first follow up appt. Very abrupt personality.Definitely needs work on his people skills.

I was referred to Dr. Tarantola from my retina specialist due to a detached retina in my left eye. Nearly 2 years after flawless scleral buckling surgery, it remains perfect. In my early 40's, I was at risk for permanent blindness before his procedure. I owe my sight and future to Dr. Tarantola and his amazing staff. Would recommend him 100%!

I've developed several serious eye conditions due to undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes. The damage is done. We moved to Florida from Michigan so I had to find a new team of medical providers. I must have hit pay dirt because every one of them has been superb. Dr. T. told me it's time to start the eye injections. I was extremely anxious, petrified to be honest. He and his staff explained it all and pouf! All done!

Dr Tarantola is the finest Macular Degeneration physician I've been too. I've had MD for over 6 years. I need a shot in my eyes every month. He has always been there for me, and his nurse Terry is fantastic. If problem is on weekend, Terry will see it through and get you seen! I told Dr. T, that if he ever moved, I would move where I could be seen by him. I don't trust anyone else. He has helped keep my vision, and I'm very thankful for that! Thanks Dr. T for all you've done!

Came in to see me on the weekend and saved my vision by treating my torn retina. He was very thorough, answered all of my questions, and the procedure went great. I have now recovered all of my vision over the past month. Thanks Dr. T!

I saw dr Tarantola for my post op as Dr Myeres was unavailable. He was extremely rude. Looked at eye then literally ran out of office. I said "Wait, I have questions". He replied "She can answer your questions ". He was referring to the tech who was inputing my info into computer. I'm pretty sure she was not medically trained to answer my questions. This was worst experience I've ever had with a dr. He spent less than 60 seconds on my appointment. Dr Tarantola needs to learn bed side manners, very rude.

SAW DR TARANTOLA ON MAY 6TH. I WAS NOT INFORMED THAT HE DID NOT WAN'T TO TALK TO PATIENTS IN ORDER NOT TO SPREAD GERMS. I TOLD HIM I WANTED TO ASK HIM A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS ABOUT MY EYE. HE WAS VERY RUDE AND SAID HE WAS NOT GOING TO TALK TO ME. IF HE WAS NOT GOING TO TALK TO ME THEN WHY DID HE TAKE MY MONEY. I WILL NEVER GO TO SEE HIM AGAIN. I THINK THERE ARE MORE CONSIFERATE DOCTORS IS THIS AREA.

Have seen him for about 4 yrs. In Ft.Walton office. He is very communicative, not rushing you out the door, as seems most Drs.are prone to do. Diabetic complications &,he at beginning and still today's visit have excellent vision. His staff is also very caring, efficient & organized. Thank you, Doc.

Dr. Tarantola literally saved my eye. When I presented to him my Left Retina was completely detached. He said that he would do his best and that he did. I can now see 20/25 and the average person is legally blind following such a surgery. I know because I researched it. I cannot thank him enough for everything he has done for me. I read the two prior reviews to mine and they are not fair for such a fine person. I cannot even imagine them even being true given my experience and the others I met while in his office. We all love him! Dr. Tarantola was professional and a Godsend for me. It’s sad to me the one offs write negative reviews on fine people such as Dr. Tarantola. Frankly, he is the best I know of or have seen and the others will be hard pressed to find anyone better. He has allowed me to keep seeing my best and for That I’m eternally grateful!!

Rude. Unprofessional. Rushed in and rushed out. Acted as if it was a imposition to have to explain his findings. I would rather drive further to find a doctor than deal with the arrogance I witnessed

When I first saw him for a detached retina, he told me after the surgery was completed he told me I would have much improved eyesight. He lied. I now have to have cataract surgery and have been told that my vision in my left eye will never get better than 20/450. I feel betrayed by the lies. I would advise anyone thinking of going to see him to run the other directions,

He is a very kind, caring doctor. To find a doctor that genuinely cares for patients is rare. I appreciate how he wasn't so eager to leave the door but listened and answered our cares/concerns we had. I highly recommend him.

He was over an hour late to a first appointment. He was unfriendly to the point of rude and he went too quickly explaining my eye problem. Then he did not give me a recommendation on whether I should have the surgery. I had to ask his tech. He did not return my call after three attempts on three different days. Another physician needed his input on something. So I called him three different times on three different days. He refused to return the call.
