Dr. Ramaekers is my anemia and MDS doctor, for almost 2 years. He watches my blood counts and hemoglobin very closely and is now starting a weekly shot to help stimulate the red blood and hemoglobin counts, and to decrease the amount of blood transfusions I have to have.He explains what he is going to do and is currently watching everything very closely and I have follow ups with him every 4 weeks. I trust his decisions regarding my health issues and he answers my questions. I think he is a great Oncologist. CC Aurora, Ne

He is very brilliant, but right now I'm not very happy as I was told to do a blood test last week cuz I would possibly need treatment so I did and I also found out that my count went lower and I'm still waiting to hear anything and it's been 6 days. My other hemotologist would have started my treatment asap, I just feel like I have put on the back burner. I have a fulltime job so I really need to have this communication so my employer knows what is going on, but it's hard for me to tell them when i dont know what is going to go on.

I would recommend him because he's very knowledgeable and has a teacher's ability to answer questions in a thorough and understandable way. He's very attentive & intuitive for what is obvious and what is not said. I found him wiser than his age! (Don't know where he acquired that but I credit God.) He seems genuinely interested in the patient and does follow up phone calls when someone is in distress. His bedside manner is impeccable.
