Bad Bedside Manner
I went with my husband to his appointment with Dr. Neff and was extremely disappointed. I've never encountered a Surgeon who basically threw us out of the office once we asked questions about my husband's condition. He couldn't get us out of there fast enough and rushed us to the scheduler to schedule surgery. He did not want to address anything else and is strictly a Surgeon, and nothing else. He does not listen. The office was so noisy, I could barely hear the scheduler. I'm glad they can get my husband in soon because after post op appt we will never go to his office again.

Dr. Neff is personable and I really liked him after the initial consult. He did only spend about 10 minutes with me but it seemed a fairly straightforward situation. After scheduling the surgery around his busy calendar and some fixed dates in mine, we found a day that worked. I took that day off work. Then his office called me at 3 pm the day before the procedure to cancel because of an emergency. We rescheduled for a date 4 weeks later, again because of his full schedule. Again i scheduled the day off work. Then unbelievably I AGAIN got a call from his office at 3 pm the day before the procedure for an emergency cancellation. I understand one emergency cancellation, but two? I waited a total of 3 months just to have the surgery cancelled. I liked Dr. Neff but my time is valuable too. I will find someone else who can commit to a time/date and stick with it.

The receptionist in his office has NO people skills and is extremely rude! I have never been treated this poorly by any physician office personal. He on the other hand was very pleasant to talk too.

Overall nice guy, but a little too casual for comfort. I've had a swollen lymph node in my armpit for 4 months now. Ultrasound showed 2.8cm long in November. He said wait 3 months and if not decreased he'd biopsy it. I got a 2nd opinion thru Barnes while waiting and they measured it at 3cm. Meeting with him today (3 month checkup a few weeks early) and he tried to tell me it wasn't there anymore. I pointed out where it was and that I can still feel a golf ball moving around in my armpit when doing activities or putting on deodorant. It's very easy to find in there. When I showed him where it was he then said that lymph nodes don't cause pain and whatever pain in my armpit I have wasn't from the lymph node. I know what the pain in my armpit is coming from and it's the lymph node. The pain has been there from day one of it swelling up. Extremely dismissive over a potential underlying serious issue. For that reason I would not recommend.

Dr. Neff operated on me three years ago. I am a large man and he made it clear that he wanted to complete the surgery with an endoscope but might have to open me up if there were complications due to fat tissue being in the way. He was able to complete the surgery with the minimally invasive method. He is not going to hang out with you and friends but I would choose him for any procedures in the future. He also arranged for his surgical team to come in over a holiday to ensure my best care.
