Dr. Ryan Mascarenhas, MD

Years ago I had a good experience with this practice but since COVID I feel the nation is relying on 3rd string doctors. I came back to this practice to address a case of kidney stones. The doctor treaded me like I was very routine, showed little interest and handed me off to his PA. Have had stones removed and the PA, although friendly, does appear to have the knowledge required to lead a case. I've been lied to and d the office staff doesn't seem to follow though until the last minute. This would be OK if very busy but when I see the staff joking around and I find out about testing last minute, it is clear the patients aren't important to this practice. I will be changing providers.

Dr M was nice enough on the surface, but didn't actually listen to what I was telling him about myself, my history and went forward with prescribing medicine that I told him I reacted negatively to on at least 2 previous occasions. I was then turned over to his nurse practitioner bc the date of my appointment was apparently more important than working around his vacation plans - extended follow up appt also landed on a vacation for him placing me again with his NP. His NP, Kelsey, is again very nice and was a lot more considerate of me as an individual and at least reduced the starting dose from what Dr M wanted to prescribe me. Sure enough, same side effects occurred.He wanted to dx me with a screen test even though my results require more testing to determine diagnosis. Says instead he likes expensive imaging for cause b4 any actual dx.He believes solely in his allopathic standard of pharmaceutical care and has zero interest in evidence based medicine or finding a root cause.

Knowable, excellent bedside manners and is genuinely concerned about his patients.
