Brilliant, kind, caring
Completed one surgery with Dr Levy and weeks away from a second complicated surgery. He’s extremely intelligent in thoracic medicine. Kind and considerate. Very well respected.

I’m actually sorry to write this review because the problem is mostly due to “the system”: the docs are specialists who don’t care for/about the whole person (my husband). Dr. Levy, the attending surgeon is good but teams with Dr. Luketitch for some surgeries at Presby and he seemed to defer to him; it was unclear who was in charge. The 1st surgery went sideways causing an infection. They put him through 3 more surgeries under general anesthesia & morphine and still couldn’t figure it out. Finally, I told the infectious disease drs, “You know, my husband had his spleen and half of his pancreas removed.” They said, “That’s probably causing the high white blood cell count.” Astonishingly, those drs & surgical team members were clueless about my husband’s history. This was in 3/2021. It is 7/2021 and he is still suffering the affects of too much anesthesia. No one on Levy’s team looked at the history of the person on the table, even after the first surgery went awry. Beware!

Dr. Levy is the most compassionate doctor, I have ever encountered My husband was referred to Dr. Levy after his doctor could do no more for him. We appreciated that we never felt rushed and he always took his time to explain what the procedures were, and what, in the final analysis, what needed to be done. Unfortunately, my husband passed away from another unrelated cause. Dr Levy called me personally to give his condolences. I will never forget his kindnesses.

Dr. Levy needs to work on his interpersonal skills with his patients. His abrupt manner comes across as rude and uncaring. His interactions with my 84 year old mother were upsetting to her and our family. I would not recommend him at all and would give him zero stars.

I am so thoroughly disappointed in my first & last experience in Dr. Levy’s office. My appointment was at 2:30 & by 5:00, I had not seen him. While his PA came in at 3:30 to get my information, that was the last I would see of anyone. At 5:00, I finally gave up & went out to see if I could fine someone/anyone. I found his PA, a nurse & another individual in an office. I explained I could not wait any longer as my time is also valuable. They apologized & said he was delayed in the O.R. I said it would have been nice if someone would have communicated that to me (& the other 3 patients waiting in other rooms). So unprofessional & such a frustrating experience. I will not be back regardless of his wonderful reputation!! The whole office could use a lesson on communication, courtesy & professionalisms!!!

No one should have to wait 2.5 hours after appointment time to see a doctor. I called an hour ahead of appointment time to see how far behind he was running (hearing he is notorious for being behind schedule) and the office would not tell me anything. They still advised us to be there at appointment time. 2.5 hours later, after almost leaving, he made time to see us. My 86 yr old father who had to wait for that long, and myself. I left work 3 hrs early to get him there on time. Not acceptable.

Dr Levy is a skilled intelligent ,kind surgeon. He got to.the.bottom of my health issue in less than 2 weeks and he spent the time at appts explaining and showing images to me so I knew what was going on. I never felt rushed. My incision is healing well without any complications from my biopsy location. And he called me himself with the results as soon as as they came in. He also graciously answered questions from my surgeon brother about my case. Dr. Levy is .wonderful doctor
