Best Cardiologist in Santa Cruz
Came to Dr.Brandt for a second opinion concerning implantation of pacemaker. He reviewed the other MD's notes and asked me detailed questions about my symptoms and concerns. After discussing my situation with him--we both reached a decision to wait and not have pacemaker surgery immediately. 2 years later I feel great and still have not needed a pacemaker. I feel he took the time that it took to reach a decision I was confortable with.

Yesterday, Jan. 6th, went to PAMF Mt.View Imaging Center for a coronary CT-scan which was ordered by Dr. Brandt. I took 150mg Prednisone for my allergy to the contrast material, but when I arrived, I was told they couldn't give me the scan because Dr. Brandt didn't prescribe BetaBlocker for me (first I heard of it). This wasn't first time, he failed to prescribe proper test for this scan. I had a liver panel test which was unnecessary, and should have been prescribed, instead, a basic metabolic test. I had a serious problem communicating with this doctor online; he never seemed to answer my questions adequately. I don't think he should be seeing patients.

Dr Brandt shows no compassion, has terrible bedside manners and after many visits my mother had with him, never was she diagnosed as being in congestive heart failure, as she soon later to be diagnosed by an out of the area hospital. She knew something wasn’t right and tried so hard to get answers. She dies shortly after at Dominican following heart surgery, where again, Dr Brandt spoke to us without any compassion. I would not recommend him

As a patient, at first I thought Dr Brandt to be unfriendly...not a lot of eye contact, etc., but over time, I have developed the utmost confidence in him. I appreciate his manner and feel he's a bit of an introvert actually...like many of us. We've had great conversations.
