Staff Are the Worst
This doctor may be a good surgeon, but his staff treat you like a number. It’s dehumanizing. Maybe they are a reflection of him. Idk… I’ll never go to that practice again as they have been very rude to myself and family members.

Erroneous billing AND bad diagnosis
I visited Dr Tigges for a knee injury and hip pain that wasn't resolving; Tigges saw me for a moment, sent me away with a misdiagnosis. (I later got a good second opinion and proper diagnosis from HSS - hospital for special surgery in NYC). The worst part though is I found out a YEAR later they'd never submitted to my insurance, and sent my bill to collections.

I would highly recommend Dr Tigges to anyone who needs hip or knee replacements! I hav had one hop, and both knees replaced.all went well. He’s a great guy, and a wonderful surgeon. When I worked in a doctor’s office, I would always recommend him. And when someone called for pre op for knee or hip, surgery, I’d ask who was going to perform the surgery, most answers were DrTigges.

Awesome Dr. he took the time to explain all aspects of my hip replacement and was available through the recovery process, which by the way went amazingly well and almost pain free. I will be seeing him for my other hip.

For three years I was told by multiple Doctors that my joint pain and swelling was nothing--despite increasingly difficult walking. Dr. Tigges read the MRI and immediately confirmed it was some sort of auto-immune disease and referred me to a wonderful Rheumatologist. He spent a good amount of time talking to me about what he saw and was incredibly helpful. Thanks to this Dr. I am now aware of my Psoriatic Arthritis and have been able to make nutritional changes that have helped a great deal.

Dr. Tigges did my total hip replacement. Prior to surgery,I carefully explored orthopedic surgeons in the hudson valley and Dr. Tigges' name was always in the conversation as the best. Now I know why. He focused on the task at hand and was very professional about his approach. He has also surrounds himself with an incredible team of physician assistants, nurses, and physical therapists. I am now 3 weeks post surgery and my pain is totally gone and have fully regained my life back.

Dr. Tigges was very informative during my first session with him. He clearly stated the need for total knee replacement of my right knee. Many doctors before had advised I was a candidate. He was pleasant and informative. I chose to use him for my surgery. He did a great job. I am clearly on the road to recovery and am able to ascend and descend stairs and walk without the aid of a cane. I am six weeks post surgery and back to the gymn and work

I went to Dr. Tigges for an evaluation of a painful knee. After X-rays, I was seen by Dr. Tigges. He barely glanced at my knee (from across the room); he never touched or examined the knee, had me walk to check my gait, or any standard checks. He told me I needed surgery, but wouldn't consider doing it until I had lost a significant amount of weight. He didn't tell me how I might alleviate the pain so that I could exercise. He didn't suggest a knee brace. He spent about 5 min. Total cost $400.

I would never see him again. My left knee failed after he messed up my right knee replacement, and he told me it was all in my head. Maybe he should have just sent me somewhere else. Instead he almost crippled me. Thank God I found Dr. Stamer again.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Tigges?
Many years ago, Dr. Tigges was the go-to, mid-Hudson surgeon for knee replacements. Now there are others equally proficient. If you're lucky, with no postop difficulties, you'll be very happy with the result; but otherwise, you'll be on your own. He is very busy, and surgeons aren't well compensated for postop care. His office doesn't respond to requests for postop appointments, beyond a month after surgery, even for a serious difficulty, as confirmed by other recent patients and by PT's.
