Dr. Russell Cohen, MD

Dr. Cohen replaced my left knee on Sept 5th, it was a TKP. My surgery went well, I was home the same day. I am three weeks post surgery. I was walking without crutches the third day. I am driving and doing extremely well in PT. I was told that I am 30 days ahead of where I should be. I am practically at my 120 degree angle. My surgery seems to be a distant memory, and here I am without pain. Dr. Cohen is an amazing and knowledgeable surgeon. His entire team is the best. Santiago Chavez his Physician Assistant and Rachel Garcia his nurse scheduler were extremely helpful and awesome.

Dr. Cohen replaced both of my knees and he is an amazing surgeon. He's also extremely thoughtful in how he relates to and cares for his patients before, during and after surgery. I'm 4 days post replacement and already moving at 90 degree angle and feeling strong.

I just completed my 6 week post op for my second TKR. My right TKR was in October and my recovery went very well. I was released today from my left TKR, it was a bit more difficult but my recovery and range of motion is right where I need to be. My first visit with Dr. Cohen I totally trusted that he was the right Dr. to do my surgeries. I had been struggling for years with the pain and he assured me that when this is all over and done I will wonder why I didn't seek surgery earlier. He is 100% correct. Dr. Cohen and his entire staff are just wonderfully kind supporting people. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen if ever you need a TKR.

He's very serious about his job, and he works with the best & latest equipment. My recovery time was the fastest I'd experienced, and I've had 4 previous hip implants on the other leg.

I can not say enough good things about Dr Cohen and his staff..I was scared to death to have TKR.. I can honestly say he day after surgery I was brutally sore.. However by the second day I was off the pain meds and it felt great.. What a talented Dr... I can't believe I was so scared... Dr Cohen thank you for what you did for me... The staff had me totally relaxed prior to surgery and after. My incision is so small I can't believe they did a TKR.. Im a big guy 6'9' and to do that delicate of a job is incredible! As a former Professional Athlete I've been around 100's of Orthopedic Dr's. Dr Cohen stands alone! Thank you Thank you Thank you..

He performed a total knee replacement of my left knee in 2015. The surgery was fast, and I was back at work the following week. My knee is still fully functional after 8 years. He also performed TKR on my mother, and several of my friends. His expertise and care after surgery is excellent.

I had surgery today, 1-25-24, at Scottsdale Abrazo campus. Total knee and it could not have been a better experience. Dr. Cohen's team was professional, courteous and informative. At first, I was hesitant as I needed a total hip replacement, I was nervous yet it was required. Dr. Cohen and his staff walked me through everything I could expect from the beginning to the end. The entire team that worked with him to make sure my surgery and the pre-surgery visits were some of the best people I've ever met. The moment I got to surgery Dr. Cohen came in to speak with me and tell me everything that would be taking place. I've never had anyone in the medical field not only take the time to make sure I knew everything beforehand, but care so much about what he did as a professional. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen any day of the week, and I'm extremely thankful for what he has done to better my life..

I am a 57 year old elite powerlifter. I met with 3 surgeons before choosing Dr. Cohen for my hip replacements. There are not enough good things that I can say about him, his staff, the hospital, the surgery and the outcome. He took his time and answered all of my questions throughout the entire process. His staff was a pleasure to work with. Following both surgeries, I was walking without a cane or walker within a week. My post replacement pain was never worse than the pain prior to the replacements. I am roughly 1 year post op (left) and 10 months post op (right) and have zero pain and complete mobility. 6 months following the 2nd hip I was competing again at my pre-surgery strength. I have no limitations. I never dreamed I would feel like I do in such a short period of time. I cannot recommend Dr. Cohen any more highly. If the time comes for my knees, there is nobody else I will even consider.

Worst experience I've had in years compared to other doctors. The same goes for his medical assistant and the entire visit procedure. In principle, he refused to provide me with medical help. I will never go there again.

Outstanding! From initial visit and consultation throughout pre/post surgery Dr. Cohen was always communicating and made sure he spent time with. Greg follow up post surgery. He makes you feel like you are his only patient.

I am an active 65 year old. I had my left hip successfully replaced by Dr. Cohen on 11/16/2021. At that time, he informed me that review of my x-rays also showed that the right hip wasn't far behind and he was correct. As soon as i experienced the same symptoms, i didn't hesitate to see him again. My consultation visit was on June 6th and my hip replacement was completed on June 22nd. It's been 2 weeks since surgery and my progress once again has been remarkable. I've been working out at the gym since July 1st and there has been no discomfort. I'm sure that Dr. Cohen's superior surgery technique is so advanced that his other patients must have had similar outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen for all your orthopedic needs.

He is an excellent Surgeon with a dynamite personality. Had one knee done elsewhere. Dr. Cohen did the other. His work was superior with the robot method. Next he did my right hip, excellent. No walker or cane and driving in ten days. On June 14th I am getting my left hip replaced. In under a year I will have 2 knee surgeries and 2 hip surgeries for the Grand Slam. Bottom line: If you need an Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Cohen is man. Thank you Dr. Cohen for giving me my life back. P.S. His staff is so professional

My husband had his knee replaced last year by another doctor. We "thought" we were pleased. While at PT I noticed one person with a very recent knee replacement doing much much better than anyone else. She told us she had used the same surgeon we did for her first knee but through intensive research found Dr. Cohen for her second. His robotic procedure made a world of difference. Since we already had the second knee scheduled, we were reluctant to start over and delay the procedure. But the chance of much better results prompted us to call Dr Cohen. He got us in the next day. Surgery was only delayed by a week and that was due to the hospital. We were so glad we were able to switch. Besides his mad skills as a surgeon, he is wonderful at explaining everything, answering our questions and most of all, listening. His staff is as amazing as he is. We live in a retirement community and are recommending Dr. Cohen to all our friends and neighbors.

Dr Cohen replaced both of my knees. I could not be happier with the results. He is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. COHEN did my knee perfectly. I healed very quickly. He explains things clearly, and he has a wonderful demeanor.

I had robotic hip surgery with Dr. Cohen. I now have a deformed leg and in more pain than before I had the procedure. I am devastated. When I went to see him for a follow up, because I thought something was terribly wrong, since my leg now turns inward and I am in excruciating pain every step I take, Dr. Cohen said, "well, some work out and some don't." The morning following surgery, Dr. Cohen came in and demanded to know why I was still there. I stated that I was told I was staying, due to the condition I was in, I did not ask to stay. I was then rushed through the learning stairs and discharge process, after I over heard the staff saying I HAD to be out of there before 24 hours. I would have thought the patient care would have been the priority. I also recently had an event and one of my attendees stated she too had a botched robotic surgery by Dr. Cohen just 3 months ago. BEWARE....IT IS STILL HAPPENING A YEAR LATER...ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK...

Dr. Cohen was recommended to me by a retired Dr. who lives near me. Upon meeting Dr. Cohen, I was immediately impressed. He utilizes robotic assist in his surgeries. This makes the knee replacement very precise and less invasive. On 7/27/21 he performed a total knee replacement on me. On 9/7/21 he completely replaced my left knee. I could not possibly be more satisfied with his expert abilities. People are absolutely shocked when they see how well I walk and how advanced the state of my healing. I thank God that I chose Dr. Cohen for my knee replacements.

Within this last week I had Mako robotic total knee replacement surgery performed by Dr. Cohen. From the first pre-operative assessment visit, through the surgery, to his postoperative visit in the hospital , Dr. Cohen has been extremely professional, thorough and informative. Importantly, he has surrounded himself with a highly professional team that is committed to excellent patient service. I should also add that every one of his team members seems to be proud to be working with Dr. Cohen. I feel very fortunate to have chosen Dr. Cohen for my total knee replacement surgery, and I am happy to give him my strongest possible recommendation.
