Dr. Rudolph Acosta Jr, MD

The office needs modernization, but I go to doctors for diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Acosta is knowledgeable, professional, and a really good communicator. He may seem to some like "old school," but he has a broad and thorough of knowledge of urology and the skill to communicate it to patients.

My elderly father had an appointment with Dr. Acosta. The wait time for my father to get into a patient room was unacceptable. Then, Dr. Acosta left my father in the patient room to attend to another patient without explanation. Now, my mother and I have left messages and attempted to contact anyone in the office for well over a week with no response. The service provided at this office is dismal.

Dr. Acosta was professional, very knowledgeable and straight to the point. No complaints there. However, his office is in dire need of an upgrade. Office was dingy and old. Office staff was pleasant enough, but his appointment clerk had her mask down around her neck even though she was actively coughing (repeatedly). Wait time was excessively long to be seen as well.

Dr. Acosta was an absolute professional. His bedside manner was incredible. I definitely recommend him.

On my previous review I thought I gave Dr. Acosta 5 stars but it showed 4, that was my mistake. In correcting it, I am giving him and his staff 5 stars *****

Easy and Fast

I really like Dr Acosta and his staff also. I don’t understand what all this is in regard to the staff being rude. I’ve been there several times and they’re always exceptionally polite, pleasant, friendly and efficient. The only reason I didn’t give the doctor a 5 star is after consulting with another doctor in regard to my condition that Dr Acosta could have informed me of a couple of different issues that could be affecting a very serious condition that I have. Maybe he will have a different rationale on the subject and I would update my review to a 5 star at that point in time. It’s too complicated to explain it in a review but I have a problem with urinary retention. I hope he has a good answer to my question because I really enjoy him as a practitioner. He always has a great big smile and is very pleasant.

Dr. Acosta is the BEST UROLOGIST IN THE WHOLE STATE! He knew right away my problem and the correct treatment to give me :) GOD BLESS HIM! The staff are excellent! They did my appointments at the time most convenient for me they follow through before and after my procedure:!! GOD BLESS HIM AND THE STAFF FOR YOUR EXCEPTIONAL WORK AND CARE FOR THE PATIENTS!! THANKS!!

excellent in all respects

The physical appearance of surroundings, office and equipment need improvement and modernization. Once you get pass that to the doctor, then alls well. Dr Acosta was fantastic!! He's very knowledgeable, appears confident with great analytic and diagnostic skills. He's receptive and easy to talk with.

Would give less stars as the overall experience with his staff, and significant wait to be seen for your appointment (45 min and counting this visit) are major detractors. However, Dr. Acosta is an excellent and caring practitioner, so I try to make peace with the bother.

His office staff is horrendous, rude, and do not care about the patient whatsoever. I was told over and over that the doc would call with important results first thing in the morning. At 1pm the next day, I call the office and Yamilka is the rudest person I have ever met and says pretty much that I am not as important as other things that are going on. And that is only...Evelyn is just as bad. They have attitudes and think they do not have to answer questions, and are extremely rude.

This Doctor listens very well and open to conversation about options which is an absolute when dealing with cancer. He is very knowledgeable and I can tell he has allot of experience.
