Dr. Rubeena Mian, MD

I went to Dr. Mina’s office because I needed an evaluation for depression and anxiety. My first appointment was in person, but after that all my appointments have been through phone call. She wouldn’t respect the appointment time or date. She would randomly call a day and stated that was my appointment time. The firsts appointments she would acknowledge how I was feeling, the last few appointments she would ask me about the meds and if I needed a refill and let me know that I had a balance. The appointment lasted about 5 min and whenever I told her I was going to make a partial payment she would huff and puff about it. Not professional at all.

I've been seeing Dr. Mian since 2013, when I was first referred to her by West Suburban Women's Health (OBGYN) for evaluation for suspected Postpartum Depression with Psychosis, which began after the birth of my son in 2011. She was able to diagnose the PPD/PPP and prescribed a pregnancy safe medication to reduce my symptoms until I gave birth, which allowed me to have a safe and mentally healthy pregnancy. I continued to see her after the birth of my daughter to monitor the PPD/PPP and currently see her for medication maintenance for Depression and ADHD. She is always kind and listens when I bring up a concern about medication side effects or when I feel a medication or dosage is no longer effective. She or her office manager have always returned a call regarding prescription issues within 24 hours.

There are times when she seems dismissive and lacking of empathy. She also brings up weight loss a lot, and that's not why I go to Psychiatrist. Generally, I like her and she gets the job done, but I often leave her office feeling bad about myself.

I’m very concerned about my adult child’s care. She is not stable and has suicidal tendencies along with other major symptoms and her last visit was 2 min.
