Inconsiderate & rude
Treated nurses horribly and was degrading to them in front of patient and family. Didn’t listen to anything patient tried to express and instead talked over patient and completely disregarded. Think he was knowledgeable, just didn’t seem anyone worthy of his time.

Avoid him if you can!!!!
Everything from his bedside manner to his office staff is lacking! He seems to draw things out. Something that could take one visit is split into 2 or 3. He’s too busy to take proper notes of what he does during a procedure. He put in a stent for a kidney stone. When it came time to remove it he didn’t even know if it was still in or not. His notes about the procedure were conflicting. At one point he said he took it out and another he said he left it in. He wouldn’t do anything to correct his oversight. He required me to go get an X-ray and ultrasound to see if the stent was still in or not before he would be willing to do anything else. I would never recommend him. Go somewhere else!

Dr. Bankhead saved my Mother’s life
Dr. Bankhead was on call and performed an emergency procedure on my mother during a weekend. As a result, she lived six more years. I will always be grateful to Dr. Bankhead and his staff.

Wasted My Time
I had emergency back surgery and Bankhead was the on call urologist. He came into my room and told me that I may or may not ever pee on my own again. Gave me some meds and said it might work. Went to his office for a follow up 3 days later. He told me the same thing he told my in the hospital after my surgery. I was told to come in with a full bladder so I could do a void test. He didn’t do the test then acted like it was going to be impossible for him to find a catheter for me to empty my bladder. His RN came in with a bag full and told me if I needed more that she had a cabinet full. We asked about other forms of therapy that might help and he said no just take the meds and find a new urologist because he doesn’t do workman comp.

Kind and honest doctor
My father had an emergency situation that could not wait. Dr. Bankhead took an evening call and arranged to see him asap. The followed up the next day and met scheduled his procedure immediately. I could not have asked for better care. He is kind, compassionate, and has a calm spirit. I highly recommend.

He was called in on my case. The hospital doctor called him on a Friday morning , he was out of town with a family emergency, he answered the phone and spoke to my family and I about my condition. Was pleased with bedside manner and will have surgery with him doing the surgery. Very informative.

Made one visit to his Bethany office after being referred by Canadian Valley ER. The one visit was enough, I found a good urologist that I’m happy with. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

The appointment was set up 3 weeks in advance and at no point in any of the confirmation texts received or phone calls was I advised of the pre procedure requirements Of needing to shave and have a ride home which left me embarrassed and feeling like an idiot as they had me scramble to get myself shaved and prepared. I also was not advised I needed a ride home after the appointment or I would have made sure to have one instead of panicking while I’m already there to find some one to come be my ride home. While waiting in the waiting room, the nurse came to get me and opened the door and just blurted out “who is here for a vasectomy” which is no one else’s business as this is my personal medical business. I felt like everything they said to me sounded like they were patronizing me and talking down to me. I requested the laser vasectomy and the doctor basically refused my request and stated he prefers to do the tearing method and proceeded to do the tearing method.

Dr. Blankhead save me a lot of pain after I had some server bleeding into the bladder. He got me into emergency surgery and stabilized me long enough to correct the problem with a second surgery the next day. I am sure some of his other patients had to wait those two days, I am sorry they were inconvenienced but hope they realize stuff like that happens and you want a Doctor that will do what it takes.

Hi, I am a 18 year old who had a kidney stone and it became embedded in my ureter. Long story short I spent FOUR days in hospital because they thought "he's young he'll pass it easily and not much pain". Didn't eat for FOUR days in the hospital because of the pain/dizziness, He told me word for word "You're just a stone maker" "you have thousands" NOT IDEAL bedside manner for a scared 18 year old all drugged up and in pain. NEVER TOLD ME HOW TO FIX MY ISSUE OR WHAT THE STONE WAS MADE OF. Told me all i needed for the surgery was a shot of whiskey. Seriously. Thank god mom and dad said to put me under no matter what. He also said "you're healthy as an ox!" Literally got one 7 months later. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO HIM OR ST ANTHONY FOR KIDNEY STONE. 0/10

Dr. Bankhead is an excellent doctor. Prior to my meeting him for the first time, he had reviewed my information and was very familiar with it, asked direct questions, and answered my questions. He explained all tests before conducting them. He is very knowledgeable and I have complete confidence in him. His staff is well trained and courteous. I will recommend him to anyone and we are fortunate that he is practicing in Oklahoma City. Tom M. Lucas, Ph.D., Woodward, OK

I just waited an hour and a half and not Dr. in site. I'll take my business elsewhere. I don't need someone cutting on my nuts that can't responsibly handle appointment times. How long should I have waited. 2 hours? 3 hours? A nurse came in the room to inform me of a surgery and the wait would continue. Why was a surgery scheduled before my appointment? Could patients have been called and appointments moved? Too much work I guess.

The doctor was nice and quite self effacing. He forgot that he had reviewed my blood test results with me and named a different pcp then the one I've had for 20 years. Overall he was kind and his bedside manner was very good. His staff were unable to draw blood and then told me to go to the lab to have it drawn. I asked why a different nurse couldn't draw it and was told they "didn't have time- we need this room for another patient!" The rudest staff I have ever experienced!
