I don't know why my experience with Dr. McBeath was so different from many of these reviews. I saw Dr. McBeath with severe wrist and elbow pain and wound up being her patient for almost a year. During that time, I felt invalidated, disrespected, dismissed, and patronized. She continued to put more weight on the imaging results than my report or symptoms no matter how much I explained or emphasized them. I will never forget one particular visit when she very condescendingly clicked through my studies, saying, 'Normal. Normal. Normal.' She also told me I had a low pain tolerance- very much a first as I was a varsity D1 athlete. She also suggested my pain was psychological. Interestingly, each time Dr. McBeath did agree to exploratory surgery, she found more wrong. I wound up needing 6 operations altogether. Ultimately, she helped my pain, but the mental and emotional distress in that year may have been worse than the physical. I do not recommend her.

the use of the laptop to register indicates that someone has no concept of infection control. What if I had a C. Dif or Staph infection????? I have both a MD and MPH; I was a chief medical officer at a NJ hospital for 9 years and Chair of infection control. The person who advised the use of the laptop probably was not medically trained.

The Best!
Dr. McBeath is just wonderful. She was thorough with answering all my questions and when I didn't understand something she went back and explained every step of the procedure again. Doctors like her are rare these days! She does not treat her patients like just another customer she shows compassion and cares. I could not have been happier with her during my whole wrist surgery. I am so thankful I chose her and on my way to a good recovery.

She is awful
She diagnosed me based on health history (long term Type 1 diabetes) instead of a physical exam and tests, & didn't answer questions or address my concerns. A couple of years later I saw another doctor who- only after a thorough exam and nerve tests-gave me a completely different (and accurate) diagnosis !

Dr. McBeath is an amazing doctor. She is incredibly positive, thorough, and really listened to me. She spent as much time as I needed and always explained exactly what was happening. I needed multiple surgeries and am very thankful she was my surgeon. Her staff, patients, and hospital surgery center staff all rave about her. I would highly recommend her.

I have seen everything you can imagine a a nurse with 30 years experience in critical care, trauma , military air evacuation and recovery room care. Only a handful of doctors impress me. Dr. McBeath is an angel with the skill, knowledge, passion and care that is second to none. Grace & skill with compassion are witnessed by the nurses who see everything. Other surgeons can not come close. I’ve witnessed her compassion when she explains an urgent operation to a frail little lady who broke her hand late at night on a weekend. I’ve seen her calmly and professionally explain the operation to a frustrated man who cut off many fingers only to awaken after a marathon surgery overnight that other doctors may have walked away from . I notice and other nurses notice the few ‘true heroes’ that make a difference. If my family member gets hurt, I pray that she is available and so should you!

Dr. McBeath is one of the most knowledgeable physicians I’ve ever encountered. As soon as she saw my x-rays, she knew my diagnosis. Not only that, but she immediately recognized an underlying rare condition as well. It was so quick that I obviously had to go home and research it more, comparing my own x-rays to those online. I was SO impressed. As someone else mentioned, she did seem a bit stiff to me, but I also saw her for 10-15 minutes. I don’t expect her to cozy up and ask for my life story. She didn’t have a negative disposition. She didn’t do anything extreme my first go around, opting for a minimally invasive treatment plan. I did return for a follow up and she was completely fine. She smiled too.
