Hands-off. That's how I would describe Dr. Donehower. Go somewhere else if you want a chance at any real therapy. We had to constantly hound the doc to do things that are par for the course elsewhere. DNA sequencing of the tumor? Literally had to repeatedly beg him to order it - and sure enough, it yielded useful results. Said results could have been much more useful had we been able to do the sequencing earlier! I don't think another doctor could have cured my father's cancer. But I like to believe another doctor would have at least given him a fighting chance.

Dr D has been an incredible help to me...I was diagnosed with cancer over 15 years ago...and I'm still here. He always has time for his patients, you are never rushed or made to feel like you are clogging the works....

Very experienced, but more likely to "write off" advanced stage cancer patients. And in life or death situations, cancer patients need a doctor that will fight to save them. Showed elements of neglect as well - didn't discuss yellow flags in a health report that might have led to an earlier dx, didn't warn certain treatments would prohibit other future treatments, didn't change medication dosage quickly enough, etc. Avoid if possible.
